Great Lightweight Layer That Punches Above Its Price. My new Fav Jacket As an Amazon Vine Voice reviewer, I’ve tried quite a few “budget-friendly” puffers over the years, and this Amazon Essentials lightweight packable hooded puffer genuinely surprised me—in a good way. First off, the value is hard to ignore. At around the $25 mark (especially on sale), this jacket feels like a smart grab for everyday wear. I ordered the Medium in Caramel, and the color looks clean and versatile in person—easy to pair with jeans, joggers, or even casual workwear. The fit is true to size with a comfortable, regular cut through the shoulders and chest. It leaves enough room to layer a hoodie or sweater underneath without feeling bulky. Warmth-wise, this is not a heavy parka—and it doesn’t pretend to be. But for 40–55°F weather, especially here in coastal Southern California, it’s perfect. On chillier mornings or windy evenings, it holds body heat surprisingly well for how light it feels. With a light fleece underneath, I’d be comfortable dipping into the high 30s. For real winter conditions or snowstorms, you’ll want something heavier or use this as a mid-layer. What I really like: * Lightweight and easy to throw on—no stiffness or bulk. * Water-resistant shell handles light rain and mist without soaking through. * Packs down neatly into the included drawstring bag. Great for travel, tossing in the car, or keeping in a backpack “just in case.” * Zippers feel solid for this price point. * Elastic cuffs and hem help trap warmth without feeling tight. This puffer jacket really surprised me - in a good way. When I first took it out of the package, I was underwhelmed. It seemed like the "puffer cells" were underinflated (or understuffed with insulation). In other words, it seemed flatter (and lighter weight) than I anticipated it would be. I wondered whether this thing would provide enough warmth in expected temperatures hovering at, or below, the freezing mark. Well, the answer turned out to be a resounding "yes". It did. This was the surprise, for as lightweight as this jacket was, for temps say in the 40's, this jacket and a single shirt underneath were sufficient. As the temperature dropped below freezing, I added thermal underwear and/or a fleece overshirt (depending on how long I was going to be outside) and - remarkably - the layers with the jacket kept me warm. And I'm from Florida! I guess it's true: Air really is the best insulator. Because that's the principle behind this thing. As for being "water resistant"... exceeded expectations again. I found myself in several snowfalls hovering right around the freezing mark temperature-wise. This meant that most of the flakes ended up melting right on the jacket. True, it was somewhat damp by the time I got back to my hotel, but it was dry by morning just by hanging it in the closet. For something like $35 (on sale in late 2023) I feel I really got my money's worth with this little puffer! P.S. BTW, if you want to blend with the winter crowd in Europe, this jacket will do the trick. It seemed like literally 50% of people I saw while visiting various Christmas Markets in Dec 2023 (Austria, Slovakia, Poland, Germany) were wearing a black hooded puffer jacket of this type. Add in a black knit cap, light gloves, and jeans (though black) and - Voila! - you'll be mistaken for a local!

I bought a few similar jackets from different manufacturers and the plan was to keep the one that fit the best. This one came in second place, and I had to return it because another one fit me a little better. I ordered the small, and I am 5'6" tall and 150 lbs with short limbs and a wide frame. Nothing fits me well, so I usually have to settle for something that is close but not perfect. This jacket fit perfectly, but the sleeves and overall length were just a little bit longer than a competitor. I honestly would have kept this jacket if I had not tried the competitor's, because the extra length was negligible and comfortable. Generally speaking, this jacket style runs a little long in the sleeves for people like me with short arms. Then, if you buy a size extra-small (usually not available), it's too tight or too short in the overall length. This is a nice, well-constructed, lightweight jacket that feels warm. It's much lighter than a parka but it seems like it will work for cold and wet weather around 40-45 F. The hood also fits well without a hat and it seems like a very functional go-to jacket for cold rainy weather. The wrist elastic could be a little tighter in my opinion, but it's basically snug around the wrist. You can probably put a few stitches in the material and make it tighter with some clever sewing.

This is an excellent $36.00 jacket. It is well made. It has YKK 50 zippers, the poly fill is very compressable. The zipper pockets and the large storage pockets on the inside of the jacet great. I normally wear an XL shirts. This XL fit to size. It is comfortable to wear in the house on cold days. This is a great deal!!

This is very lightweight and warm. It great for trips because is compresses into the included bad.

Well i bought this so i can have an affordable puffer jacket i can abuse and not feel bad about. used it for everything and anything that involved being cold outside. Not wanting to risk expensive jacket incase i ruin it or hate it i purchased this one but so far it has withstood the abuse. i am pleased with the purchase and i recommend it if your in the market for this item and price is an issue . i have used it for concerts ,camping ,late night shopping trips ,taking out the trash at 4 am also just for the random day hikes . things i like it packs really small and is very light it also comes with its own drawstring bag that seams to match the color you purchased , i think anyhow because i have purchased 4 different colors (Christmas presents for family members ) and all come this way. Also this thing does very well in windy conditions it seams to have a very thin feel for a puffer jacket but the small amount of insulations paired with the inner and outer shell of jacket material reminds me of safety blankets ability to reflect body heat back to you this feature for staying warm is doing great for lack of "poof". i took this to a outdoor concert in LA (besame mucho) and it was very cold and windy because of concert rules only small see through bags were allowed so i brought this jacket in its drawstring bag and took a very small amount of space and was perfect for the situation kept me warm through the whole night night. had very large outside pockets with zipper closures and very deep inside pocket behind the outside zip up ones, they seam to share the space keep this in mind when placing bulky items one side will use space from the other even thought they are separate a pocket . the hoody does not have draw strings but i dont feel needs them i think we have gotten use to everything needing drawstrings, it is a bit spacious inside the hood i guess if you have a beanie or a baseball style cap it should fit fine and extends just before the bill of cap. i just hated that they tried to ship it in no box just a clear see through bag the first time had to return arrived damaged. In new condition its durability is uncertain until this point it has held up (2months), not sure yet the feel is not the toughest it has a thin feel but notably i have not torn it and it has at least been through the wash once keep in mind i airdried all this said it looks brand new and is in great shape , i would whole heartedly recommend this jacket just look for the deals also get the vest for an added layer of warmth

This packable hooded puffer jacket is an excellent value, however, the sizing is a bit odd. I'm 5'5", weigh 150 lbs. and wear a size S. This fits my shoulders and sleeve length, but the torso runs long and seems sized for taller people. The size S almost extends below my butt. Otherwise, it's as good a puffer jacket as from any other brand and will keep you warm and dry. If you're tall you'll love it. If you're short maybe shop for a different brand. I'm keeping it because I like the gold color even though it looks oversized on me.

I am surprised by the quality. It beats other products which are in the market with higher marked price and brands. Its unbelievable best quality.

Very happy with the quality of this. It's a lightweight padded jacket. The general quality is good. Deep pockets with individual zippers. Got caught in a shower on first use and it seems to be fairly water resistant. The fit is good. Having read other reviews I went for a size larger than usual and it fits well with a little room to spare. Only had a few days so can't speak to it's durability but my guess is that it will last reasonably well. Excellent value.

Bought this jacket for my uncle. He is very happy with it and said it is a good lightweight jacket that provides warmth. It comes with packable bag. Bought size XL which was a good fit for a 6’ tall male with 103cm chest! Jacket is made in Vietnam (not China like most are) and quality is good. It’s not feather filled and so vegan friendly.

These jackets, both the mens and women's are wonderful. I found myself reaching for mine every time - over heavier coats since these are so light and comfy. I finally bought one for my husband and he too wore his out and so this is the fourth such jacket we have purchased. They last through continual daily wear, normally about 3 or four hours a day from the cooler fall evenings to cooler spring days. I find we get about a year out of them, though I suppose they would last longer if we did not get them mucked up at the cuffs from the dogs. I good, not too costly jacket useful for all but the coldest winter days if you wear a sweater under.
