Get close-up, and take the picture through one of the holes in the fence. There's no way to get rid of the fence, otherwise.

There are several places to connect other devices. Under the flip up on right side below on/off switch. HDMI upper/A/V out lower. AC coupler on side by battery cover. So I would say no, maybe thru other devices on playback volume can be increased /decreased. Manual aviable online only under canon.com.

It holds a standard sd card size. So whether it is an 8gb or a 32gb, it'll fit because all sd cards are the same size. The only thing you would want to be careful of is not to buy a micro sd card, which are more typically used for camera phones, not actual cameras.
