Keeps tall boots in good shape.
These boot trees are perfect to keep my Steger Mukluks in shape, as well as my tall leather boots, preventing them from getting crushed when not in use.

What are you thinking about?!
If you've purchased a $200+ pair of boots, you will undoubtedly want to support the leather and make sure there are no creases in the future.... right? Maybe you're new to this genuine, not crap made boot world that has existed for, well, millennia. Throw away your plastic molded Steve Maddens and treat yourself to a real pair of shoes. These boot stays are simply divine, well-made, and up to the task of supporting the calf of up-to-the-knee boots. These fit Frye regular calf boots perfectly and will ensure years of trouble free leather care.Do yourself a favor, don't skimp out after blowing the budget on your boots. If quality and properly stored, boots may last for decades.

Taller than I needed
These were taller than my boots. The plastic was a bright color so they were an eye sore for my boots. I returned them.

lightweight boot tree
Good lightweight boot tree. Helps leather boot shaft stay upright after wearing. (As others have stated, this will not stretch the boot shaft in any way; it merely serves as a support in place of the cardboard boot shaft 'stuffing' that most manufacturers place in the boot shaft for shipping.) These lightweight plastic boot trees are better than the cardboard--better support from molded plastic, light spring-loaded pressure, and easy trigger pull on/off. They are about 2" shorter than the top of my boots (~17"). I have only used these for a few days, so can't comment on durability.I would recommend these to anyone who seeks an easy to use, very lightweight boot form with light pressure. If you need a boot tree that can provide more pressure to the boot shaft, I'd recommend a cedar boot tree with curved shaft that follows the actual curve of the leg (calf) and extends taller than the top of the boot shaft. The boot shaft here has a slight curve/extension at the calf, but it goes straight up vertically from that point; not curved/contoured the entire shaft.Overall, 4 of 5 stars for a lightweight product, easy to use, keeps boot shaft upright. Shaft height is a little short for some boots (my boots measure 17" tall), and spring-loaded tension is very light--would prefer a little stronger spring for more firm pressure on the boot shaft. (That is a comment for Ariat, the manufacturer, not the online merchant.)

Great Boot Trees!
These Arita boot trees are easy to compress, insert into knee-high boots, and release to maintain the shape of your boots. My boots stand up vertically, with no slouching, sagging, or bending when the trees are inserted. The boot trees appear to be well-made, in keeping with the quality I expect from Ariat. They are a dark blue color - not navy. I will buy these again if I purchase additional boots that need support to keep their “like new” shape.

Don't buy this
These don't even work. My boots won't even stretch after using these and the stretching solution along with it. I spent almost $200 on a sexy pair of goth boots and can't even wear them!??

Work Great!
I bought these for my Ariat boots and they do exactly what I need them to do. The outside may look like wood on the picture, but it's actually flimsy plastic. I was concerned when I took them out of the packaging, but once I got them in my boots the right way, I realized that's all you need since they have the right shape and pressure from the inside mechanism.I'm pretty tough on my boots and when I come in from wearing them they can be pretty creased and messed up... put the boot trees in them over night, and they look great the next day!
