Vibrant Performance 1141 2.5' Ultra Quiet Resonator, Silver

God am I IMPRESSED. First of all, I have the supercharged v6 from Audi. Catless downpipes and literally zero sound mufflers or resonators (owner before me took them off). Car literally sounded horrible, if yk anything about this engine it is extremely raspy. Did a bunch of research and everything just kept coming back to these resonators and holy hell they definitely work. Rasp is damn near gone. The drone on this car was horrible but after installing these, I’m getting no drone at low rpms. Quiet when cruising and screams when you floor it. I was initially planning on getting a set of valved mufflers just cause I was assuming a pair of resonators weren’t gonna do much to a fully straight pipes system but I might put that off for now because of how good these are. They are a little too big depending on where you want to put them. I wanted them placed in the stock secondary resonators spot so it did require some extra tubing to make things fit and i had to have them standing up cause they wouldn’t fit next to each other while flat but it doesn’t make a difference and you won’t even see them. 100% recommend these. Ik there are some cheaper alternatives that look exactly like these but trust me totally worth it for the quality.

If I had to give this resonator 10 stars I would. Definitely an awesome high quality resonator. Takes away all the raspy nasty tones into deep. Quiet when cruising, but once you slam your foot down on the gas it definitely is aggressive. Not to loud or quiet. Best resonator I’ve ever purchased. If you’re thinking about getting this resonator, just buy it.

Installed on a 1989 Volvo 245. And it worked perfectly for my 4 cylinder engine. I built my own 2.5in exhaust after I swapped in a 1994, 940 turbo engine. It was 2in before. I used a magnaflow muffler under the seats but it had too much drone. So after a ton of research I went with this to help, it killed all the drone! My car is insanely silent now exactly how I wanted it. It sounds like it has zero modifications even though I have done alot. Its a true sleeper now. I love it. Its small and easy to tuck up high to keep out of the way of getting damaged. I can hear the turbo alot better now and it seems to spool a little faster. It also took care of the annoying popping from my exhaust.

This stainless steel resonator does an amazing job of cleaning up exhaust notes and completely eliminating harsh interior highway drone. The straight-through design helps maintain excellent, unrestricted exhaust flow while taking away the raspy, high-pitched frequencies from a custom setup. The welds and overall build quality are incredibly solid, making it easy for a muffler shop to weld right into place.

This thing is just incredible Highest Quality and Sound absorption is insane. OEM level sound control in a high flow form. Used it on my 2021 VW Atlas that i got rid of the giant resonator, but it had the WORST drone at 2.5k-3k RPM. (2.0T engine). Clamped it in and it made it just as quiet as the big oem resonator. I was shocked. Amazing job from Vibrant.

Edit: After 2-3 weeks either my exhaust, this resonator, or the system as a whole really settled in. The sound is still nice and throaty when stepped on, but to the naked ear is just slightly louder than the OEM set-up inside the cabin even at it's loudest. On a DB meter it came down more during this time, but not a huge amount. What it seemed to do best is bring the worst vibrational tones into a range that doesn't sting the human ear. I have to say this is truly a magical product if you give it some time. I installed a cat back exhaust system and replaced the OEM resonator with a Vibrant bottle style resonator (not the ultra quiet) on my Lexus IS250. I found it to be painfully loud inside the cabin, especially between 2-3K RPM's. I went back to the factory resonator and it was quieter than the Vibrant bottle style resonator, but still had a loud drone between 2-3K RPM's (about 81-89db). I couldn't find many reviews comparing the factory resonator to the Vibrant Ultra Quiet resonator, so I gave it a shot to try and bring down the noise/drone a bit more. Pro's: -gave the exhaust a slightly more mature, throaty, deep sound (not deep in the sense of drone) -rounded out the tone of the exhaust throughout the RPM band (helped it blend) -made the drone a little less piercing (hard to describe since the volume didn't change much) Con's: -didn't lower overall cabin volume except by 1-2 decibels compared to the OEM resonator -slightly raised the exhaust volume outside the car by about 10% compared to the OEM resonator (didn't measure db) Is it worth getting over an OEM resonator? Maybe, but it probably depends on your setup, the OEM resonator, and your expectations. For me it was a very minor improvement. I probably wouldn't do it again, but I had to find out for myself. It certainly didn't make things worse, but it didn't add significant value either. I feel like most of these reviews are comparing noise levels going from no resonator or an aftermarket (loud) resonator so take them for what they are if you have an OEM resonator.

Quality: It looks and feels like it’s a high quality product. It’s quite heavy, feels very solid and I was surprised to see how nicely polished the stainless is. 10/10 on the quality for sure. The ends are 2.5” ID so my 2.5” tubing fit nicely inside and made for easy welding of the seams. For sound: I’m using it on my 2012 Jetta TDI 6 speed manual. I did a DPF delete/tune so I had the car straight piped for a few days. I loved the idle sound but over 2k RPM, the exhaust sounded raspy so I put this resonator in the mid pipe. Now my idle is pretty quiet and (unfortunately) took a lot of the turbo whistle away. However, I do really like the sound over 2k RPM and it COMPLETELY did away with the raspy/ricer sounds I had before. It’s deep and mildly loud at most. I really can’t hear the exhaust at all below 2k RPM with the windows up. So I am impressed with the quality of this resonator and also appreciate that it does its job well. With that being said, and depending on your application and your preference, this may make your car too quiet if you want some fun sounds. I am adding an electric cutout before the resonator so I can enjoy the turbo diesel noises when I’m feeling it. All in all I like it and it’s great for a daily driver but it’s a little too quiet for my car and noise preference

Perfect for reducing drone, very cost effective to buy and install, doesn’t reduce much sound while reducing drone, looks nice under the car, and the material is sturdy and fits perfectly to my 2018 Audi a4
