Supco RIM316 Universal Ice Maker, Replaces Whirlpool ECKMF-90, 1129316, 1108154, 1114209, 2155184

This ice maker does its job well. It does produce ice more slowly than my 25-year-old Amana refrigerator's original, and that is why I took off a star. But in three weeks, the ice bucket has almost always stayed near capacity; and even in times of heavy use, there was never the slightest concern of running out. It seems to be producing up to about five pounds of ice very 24 hours.Installation was very easy, though I would only suggest taking this on if you're used to doing your own minor home and appliance repairs. If you are replacing an old ice maker, you can probably save yourself a lot of trouble by keeping the original wiring and tubing. Just swap out the ice maker and water valve, and you're good to go. I also kept my old ice bin, since it was a better fit for my freezer's configuration.Pay special attention to the incoming water tube in the back of your freezer, that dispenses the ice into the ice maker. There is a panel on the back of the ice maker that may need to be punched out, depending on the placement of that tube. I also transferred some hardware from the old ice maker that seemed to help with stability.The first day's worth of ice had to be thrown out due to contaminants being flushed out of the system, but that's normal.

Purchased this to replace an existing maker that quit working. We did quite a bit of research to be assured this would work. Ended up we didn't need the full maker, just one of the parts, however buying the full maker made the repair of the component easy. We're boxing up the remaining parts and putting them on the shelf in the garage in case we have another part that stops working. Perhaps we should have only give it 4 stars as the ice bin was what we would call "shop worn; i.e. it was covered in dirty smudge marks. Nothing that couldn't be easily clean, though and we were happy to get it as quickly as we did. Would recommend to others!

This was a life saver, easy to install however the instructions were not that descriptive, I looked it up on youtube got it done fast.

Edit May 2022: the paint in the water basin started flaking off within 6 months of using. You have to pick out the ice with paint chips in them. Emailed seller but they have never responded. Would not recommend

Not difficult at all to install. The instructions that pertained to the electrical portion where sketchy at best. After everything is connected I could not find any guidance on how to go about testing to insure the connections are correct.However, it beats paying $300 to have a repair man come out.

It was easy to install, and my husband is very happy to have ice again. We didn't need all of the components, but it contained everything we did need.

Works beautifully. Installation took about an hour and half, as others have mentioned, instructions could be better, but overall install wasn't too difficult to decipher. The sound of the first ice cubes dumping into the tray - a sign of a proper install - is always satisfying.
