Good budget drill for the price, just be aware of what you are buying
I paid $35 for the drill in "used" condition. The drill was brand new, just the cardboard box was damaged. At this price, this is a steal - this is a solid budget drill that will do what it is designed for, which is general purpose household use, drilling small holes, etc. It is obviously not a Milwaukee or a Fein that cost 5 times more. The good:The chuck is all metal. The gearbox (the black part in front) is metal. The gears are metal. There is very little radial or axial play in the chuck. This is exceptional for a drill at this price point. The plastic case and the rubber molding is well made. It has plenty of power for a 3/8" drill, and the variable speed trigger is smooth. It's pretty short and light which is great to get into small places. It fits the hand well and it is well balanced. They did not make the mistake of trying to fit a crappy hammer function, two gears, a clutch, LED lights or similar nonsense into a budget drill. It doesn't have them because it doesn't need them, and the drill is smaller and better for it.This is clearly a step up from Harbor Freight or Ryobi. It's in the same class as Dewalt or Ridgid etc.The bad:The cable sucks, it's stiff and a bit short. There is some play in the gearbox which makes it a bit rattly when it is running without load. The RPM range is pretty high (0-2700) which makes this drill less than ideal for driving screws. You can do it but something with a lower RPM range and more torque is better suited. For an all-around drill, I would have preferred something in the 0-1500 range or similar. If you run it at low RPM, it has very little torque. This is pretty standard for drills in this price range - you have to pay a lot more for drills with closed-loop speed control (that ramp up the power as you need it). Finally, don't be fooled - "Metabo" and "Metabo HPT" are two different companies. Metabo (without HPT) is a German company that makes high end tools in Germany. They also make drills. They cost a lot more than this one. "Metabo HPT" is the new name of Hitachi, which makes budget tools wherever budget tools are made that year. My guess is that Hitachi acquired the "Metabo HPT" name to trick people into thinking that they're buying a high-end German tool, when they really aren't.

Outstanding Electric Drill
It really is an Outstanding Electric Drill. Most people want a cordless drill now-a-days. But every now in then you need a corded electric drill for the constant power. This is the one you should get. I have had it for almost two years and used it a number of times, it's OUTSTANDING.

Powerful and solid, good price, but not light weight as advertised
It is well made but I ordered it because it claimed to be lighter in weight and I am rather weak.It is heavier than my old drill so too difficult for me in my building projects

comfortable, reasonably priced, got the job done with some caveats.
The media could not be loaded. item was shipped to me with label right on the retail packaging, no protection whatsoever which may have damaged the product. The keyless locking mechanism that holds the bit can be seen rotating off-centered, as shown in video.

I'm happy with this quality corded hand drill.

Great handy drill!
I am a petite woman that likes to do handy stuff around the house. We used to own a cordless B&D drill but it always ran out of power and eventually stopped charging after not much use. After being scarred by that experience we decided to get a corded drill instead. I love using this drill and have already done several projects using it. It is very easy to use even for a relative beginner like myself and the power is excellent. The trigger is responsive and easy to control speed with, and the reverse feature is useful. The build of the drill feels very solid while being relatively compact. Highly recommended!

Burned out fast
This drill is definitely a light duty tool. It burned out after mixing 5 buckets of stucco
