So far, so good - makes GIANT 1.5 inch sparks!
The media could not be loaded. So far I've only tested with a 9v battery and only for a second or two. It seems the unit has the interrupter circuit built-in - no external electronics needed other than a switch and power.

Worked surprisingly well.
I wanted to test this device, so I connected it to a relatively low voltage, about 6 v. It still produced a robust spark when the terminals were close enough together. I am pleased with this purchase, and would buy from these folks again...

It Works!
I bought this for a idea I had but noticed many of the reviews of products like it were arriving dead or not working well.Well I was pleasantly surprised when it worked better than expected from the first try.I will admit to jumping a bit when it activated. It does not make the normal cracking noise you expect.The pulses are much closer together and the sound is higher pitched and louder than expected.The issue now is do I get more of them as spares or see how long this one lasts.

Worked for less than ONE SECOND.
Connected this device up to a switched 6V dc PS and spaced the output leads approx. 1/2" apart using Kapton tape.Applied power for a short test and got a significant spark across the gap. Reapplied power and got NOTHING. Re arranged the leads and same result. IT IS DEAD as a doornail. Not a happy customer. I'd give it no stars but even then I doubt this review will get posted.

By far the best
I've bought dozens of these kinds of things and the LG-801s are vastly superior to any of the other models I have tried. Coupled with a 9V battery you can make all kinds of high voltage experiments. Works great for a mini Jacob's Ladder, "taser", or other kinds of spark gaps.

Can't handle 12V
We had fun with this. Be aware, though that it can't handle a full 12V power supply. Better keep it to ~9. I used it alot a 9V and had no probs.

6volts only
Only worked about 30 seconds connected to 9v 1amp dc power supply. Was working well popping hard and then just stopped. I used a multimeter to check continuity and the primary had no continuity so it fried
