Absolute quality on a budget.
I'm on a constant mission to find cheaper alternatives to the top brands of artists supplies. I don't dispute that you get what you pay for when you buy the named brands (so far nobody has beaten copic for example) but the amount of money they cost can be a huge outlay, and I often can't justify such high prices. So if there's a budget product out there that will give comparable performance, I want to know!I wanted to try out these cheap oil based pencils because I had read some good things about a brand called Guanghui (Hero) pencils. These appeared to be an incarnation of this same Chinese brand.I can thoroughly recommend these as a budget alternative to the very expensive artists brands of oil pencils out there. They are truly superb and come close on quality. I did a quick price comparison between these and the cheapest Staedler sets of low pigment wax pencils and these work out cheaper, yet you get 120 shades of beautiful, highly pigmented pencils which are a dream to use.Yes they absolutely blend. Anyone who says differently isn't using them correctly. The colours layer to a rich vibrancy very quickly on paper and they easily work into the tooth of the paper to give that required density. The sheen is amazing. Now, I couldn't get them to blend any better with alcohol than I could blend them by simply working them on the paper. I also read reviews that say these are water soluble. Are you sure?! I think that some reviewers confuse the 120 oil colour pencils with the watercolour pencils. I got barely any water solubility when I tested these out. Slight smudging with a tortillon. In reality, I'm currently using them on very standard 80gsm printer paper with my scanned mandalas and I've not experienced any smudging. They really work into the tooth of the paper. Included is a photo of these in use, my first mandala using these. I hope you can see blendability, depth of pigment, burnishing etc from this image.I've also found zero broken leads, and they sharpen beautifully, the wooden casings are great on these.Really, if you want quality on a budget I don't think these will disappoint you. Its worth taking a few minutes to also look at a few techniques videos to get the most from these if you're unfamiliar with using decent quality pencils. These are nothing like the standard pencils we've all bought our children!Incidentally, because these work out as so inexpensive, they are perfect for student use, especially those who are studying art. I will be buying my older girl a set for her birthday, she is banned from using mine!

Love them
Lovely pencils, very smooth to lay down, blend well, lovely vibrant selection of colours. The leads on some do break a lot but they're great value, have a lovely case.

Absolutely brilliant VFM starter set
These are an absolute bargain, £15 for 120 good quality pencils? Of course they're not going to match up the Polychrome's, Caran D'ache's etc but they're not supposed to they cost hundreds of pounds. I have found them quite easy to blend with other colours and feel nice to use. There's a very good range of colours a little lacking in reds maybe, but very good greens., browns, purples, blues. These are ideal for anyone just starting out in adult colouring or for school/college.They arrive in a little plastic case, with 5 plastic trays, which are fine, but you'll soon want a decent pencil case for them (easily found on one here for £12-20), I paid £12 something. They also come with 4 mini adult colouring books which are ok, but a little small really. Initially you could argue it's too many pencils, but take your time and get to know them.I bought these having decided I wanted to take up something creative/relaxing in my spare time, while having no artisitic talent whatsoever. I bought a couple of adult colouring books and I'm already hooked, and lo and behold I do at least have some ability! It is great to see how your work develops over time and you pick up new skills and techniques off YT etc, and it is so much fun, relaxing and rewarding.

Absolutely fantastic
Purchased these as they looked good....Was so impressed... They are the best pencils I have come across... Such good quality and range of colours. I have already used mine every single day since they arrived so they are running low lol and I most definitely will be placing another order in the next week or so and will continue to order these as long as they are available.Would highly recommend for anyone who colours, you won't find a better set as long as these are around. It comes with 4 pretty cool colouring books and also a colour sheet you can use to shade the box and write the number of the pencil next to it to help you quickly find the shade you want... This I though was a fantastic idea and very helpful.I also think for the price it's very good value for money as well considering how much a pack of 12 costs on the high street (£3.99 was cheapest I found!!!!) So yea fantastic vaule. Also delivery was very fast indeed they arrived only a few days after I placed the order.Honestly if you buy these you will not be disappointed I can promise you 😊

Good value and quality
Just looking for some colouring pencils to get back into colouring and doodling. An excellent selection of colours and they do the job as required and sharpen well. An added bonus of a couple of sample colouring books allowed me to get cracking straight away.

Exellent budget pencils
Exellent Budget Pencils, I previously purchesed the 120 square set of Brutfuner pencils which are loverly pencils and I use more than any of my other sets.So when I seen the round 120 set on sale for £15 I just had to get them and give them a try and I am so glad I did. They are exactly the same as the square set exept for the pencil shape. The set contains exactly the same colours which have the same nice creamy aplication, and so far the pencils I have used layer and blend exactly the same as the more expensive square set.The only down side is the pencil trays which do hold the pencils nice and firm but when you place a pencil back some of the other surounding pencils jump out of there housings. The plastic case they come in is quite functional though. All in they are a suburb set of pencils for the price depending on when you buy, I have seen them range in price from £ 15 to £25.
