Easy install, smooth and quiet operation
I recently installed this Wright Products screen and storm door closer on my door, and I’m very happy with it. Great replacement or new install.
Bolted right up to an existing failed spring. Replacement took about a minute and is working perfectly.

Not quite an identical replacement
I ordered the same model door closer that was on my screen door originally. The original had a part that was made of plastic, and that was what had broken. The new one I received had a metal replacement part, but it was designed differently. I installed the new unit, but the metal part now sticks out from the door instead of wrapping around the door frame. Hopefully the unit will hold with just 2 screws instead of the 4 the original one had.

Great replacement for an old shock
This worked great! It replaced a very old shock that had been on the door for years, the exchange was easy. It is super quiet and easy to adjust.

Works fine when the inside door to the house is open ...
The Wright closer I had was leaking oil so I replaced it with this new Wright closer. It is on an aluminum screen door with a full length plastic winter window that is in my garage by the door to my house from the garage. The closer will not close the screen door until it latches when the wooden door to the house is closed. Works fine when the inside door to the house is open but it is not powerful enough to close the aluminum door when the house door is closed and there is air pressure to overcome. When I go from the house to the garage and close the house door I have to push the screen door closed, when I go from the garage to the house I have to wait for the screen door to close before closing the door to the house. This is a standard duty closer but my screen door is not very heavy even with the plastic window and I thought it would work. I will look for a heavier duty closer.
