Great patio mat for 7 pound Yorkie
I have ordered a few different grass mats for my patio. This one is very small and fits perfectly on a puppy pad. I normally just throw the puppy pad away and clean off the excrement and reuse it a couple of times before cleaning it. It is tough to clean. I live in a very cold climate where I can’t just rinse it off outside or else it would just freeze. So I normally take it inside and put shampoo on it and rinse it off in the shower, but this is a big mess and quite stinky. It has worked adequately, but I don’t clean it as much as I would really like to because it’s a pain. Fortunately, there are two pads so you can clean one while you’re using the other one. I recently decided to try to wash it in the washing machine on delicate. This cleaned it very well however it shed a lot making a making an huge mess of my washing machine and the edges got torn up. I won’t be doing that again, but it did come clean. In the end at the current price of 13.99 for two, I have just decided to use two pads per month and then throw them away and get new ones. The pads end up having excrement stuck to the pads, which is difficult to take off and they end up smelling like pee, which can affect how your patio smells as well. I would rather have relatively clean pads all the time and be down a little bit of money rather than that difficult cleaning process even in the shower. If you live in a warmer climate and can rinse them off frequently with the hose and let them dry, just cleaning them may be a good option. In terms ofutility, my Yorkie was used to going potty outside on the grass. She was four years old when I decided to try this alternative. It snows where I live and she would get all dirty out on the lawn every time she would go out there, especially because she would like to scratch the dirt over her pee and excrement. Every time she came in, she was filthy and tore up the grass as a result. I bought a starter dog door for my sliding glass door and put this little grass pad on the patio. As mentioned before, I just use a simple puppy pad underneath it instead of a tray. One puppy pad will last about four days.Training her to use the grass pad in conjunction with the dog door took about a day and some treats, but Yorkies are smart if not a little stubborn and she picked it up like a champ. If you have another dog available, who can show your dog how to use a dog door even better. My mom did bring her dog over so could see how it worked. This whole solution has been a game changer as I live in a small condo community and I can’t just let my dog out into the yard. Now with the dog door and the grass mat, she is completely independent in pottying even when I’m gone for a long time. I used to worry a lot about that and have to cut certain trips short and make sure I was home after six hours or so. Difficult for a workday. She’s just a tiny little thing. With the dog door, she also has the independence to run outside and get a little exercise running around on the patio. I know all of this has nothing to do with the actual product necessarily, but may be helpful to someone with this particular condo/townhome scenario. The only last thing I have to mention is about the size. I got the smallest size and I wouldn’t recommend it for any dog larger than 10 pounds.

Doggie grass is precut & easy to install.
I bought this potty training grass for my pets to use while on the deck. It’s very well made, and easy to use. Simply unwrap and lay precut pieces down. My dog immediately began rolling around on it. I hope they actually use it for potty training. I’ll rate the washability of the grass and come back to give details. Most likely I’ll just hose it down or let the drain handle it. It’s very light in weight and seems to be a great value for the money. (Two 14” x 18” precut pieces ).

Clean often
Great for small dogs, I do rinse my often and I use paper potty pads under the grass. It keeps the plastic tray from getting stinky

My dog would not use this product
I bought these so that I can put them out on my balcony so my dog could use them when I was unable to walk from surgery. He would not go near them. He smelled them and walked away. I even tried putting a used PP pad on top then, tried putting one under it, next to it so that he could smell his own urine. I tried sprinkling real grass on it . He would have no part of these. I ended up returning them as they were never used. They just did not work for my dog.

Should buy 2. They are small
I bought it for my cats to lay on, was hoping it would mock grass outdoors. It doesnt,, but I am sure it would be wonderful to use as the pee pads. They are a little small for bugger dogs though.

Need to rinse at least twice a week
Perfect to place inside the crate on one half and her bed on the other. This is when we are gone for a few hours.

Great product
This is a very good product. I use one that I have in the back portion of my screened in lanai. My Chihuahua is tiny and so it is unsafe to allow him out my back door to the grass. My yard is 50 ft from a lake with alligators. The pad works great! I have it on the cement and hose it down daily. I do throw it away and replace every 3 months so there is no odor.
