Durable and safe
Overall the product is high quality. If you're hesitant about this don't be. You'll get your moneys with and it's a safe way to check the cycling of your firearm. Made of a high quality type metal that may get scratched but is durable enough to last a lifetime. Also has a rubber primer to prevent striker damage when dry firing. Don't cheap out! Buy these!!!

Work.
These function in my lever actions, new and old. The red/orange color is nice to differentiate clearly from live rounds. The finish on these is a little rough compared to slick brass real cartridges, and the weight is off, but they serve for function testing/snap caps. A little expensive for what they are. But competing brands are at least as much.

Can't go wrong with metal.
I teach hunter safety courses in Michigan and we have a 30-30 that is non-firing for our students to learn about loading and unloading. Plastic just doesn't hold up. Plastic works well if you're just going to snap the firing pin wants but it's not designed to work through the action over and over.

Does what it is supposed to.
I've run them through my Marlin 336 several times now and they work perfectly. I bought two of these packages. I have cycled all of the snap caps several times. If I had to say anything negative it would be that after a few cycles they do start to show wear, mind you mine barely have any marks. Very tiny scratches around the rim from the extractor and tiny bits missing of the orange paint around where they make a lot of contact. I have not found any metal shavings or paint from these scratching off into the rifle or anything. It just isn't depositing it anywhere I can see and I have detailed stripped the Marlin 336 to check. Great way of finding out functionality and dry firing.
