Learning Resources Snap-n-Learn Color Caterpillars

I love these toys for so many reasons. First I love that they come in a durable bucket for storage. It makes cleanup and storage so much easier that having to figure out how to store random pieces. The bucket even became a toy in my house. My son loves to play with it too.Second, these toys are very easy to wash and disinfect. So many children's toys are so hard to wash. These I can simply throw in the bath tub or dishwasher and sanitize them. Makes my life a breeze.Third, they are very easy for my toddler to understand. No complicated parts, directions, or specifics. They simply snap together and help him learn about colors, numbers and many other rudimentary skills. Very easy to grasp teaching tool.Lastly these toys can take a beating. Its a nice tough plastic without being too heavy. My set has been chewed on, thrown, stepped on, and a multitude of other abuse and they still look great!I highly recommend this product!

These were a total hit with my grandchildren, one being 1 1/2 and the other 3 1/2. Much sturdier than I expected. A great alternative to the Cootie game, which has very small pieces for young children.

Very bright, colorful pieces!Pieces fit snugly together. Our 15 month old grandson can pull the pieces apart but needs some help putting together due to tight fit of pieces. Would definitely purchase again.

Another great toy, however the pieces are just a little too big to fit in this bucket provided we switch to a larger snap-lock so the kids can do it themselves

The colors are bright and the idea is good but nothing real spectacular about it . Nothing wrong with it either.

I work in a local play school and this toy is a big hit with the 2 year olds in our center and depending on the learning objectives the toy could be used with children younger than 2. The caterpillar pieces and sturdy and they snap together and come apart fairly easily. The individual pieces are not small enough to be considered a choking hazard. One "set" makes 3 full caterpillars, so multiple sets may be needed in a classroom setting.I do think it is important to note this toy will not teach your child their colors but when used in a purposeful play or guided play activity it can be used to facilitate learning colors. In a guided play or purposeful play setting, this toy can also be used to reinforce important concepts like patterns and sorting (identifies and creates patterns and matches and sorts).In a free play setting this toy supports spatial awareness (recognizes familiar objects that are up-side down and turns them right-sight up.), and fine motor (opens, closes, twists and pulls objects) development as defined by the Experience Early Learning Framework.http://www.mothergoosetime.com/wp-content/themes/mgt/pdf/EEL_SkillsContinuum.pdfI am sure there could be other development areas than those I have listed here but this is a good start. All in all, the caterpillar toy is a good choice and it is reasonably priced, the only downside being the small number of caterpillars that can be built with one set.

I bought this for my 3 yr old for Christmas, and he plays with it fairly often, surprisingly. Great purchase, and I like that it uses his hand eye coordination as well as creative thinking to put them together.

very cute and encourages for creative color pairing. how ever it has one odd color head so the child is not able to complete the same color for all caterpillars. as my daughter is special needs she got a little frustrated at the fact one didn't "fit" with the proper color match.

First class - I buy all in this range - our grandson loves them and so do I :-) cannot recommend them highly enough - great educational fun toy - I am amazed what my 1 1/2 year old grand child can do, he loves everything in the range and has amazed me with his ability to build by colour size etc still plenty more scope for learning so will grow with him.
