Thomas & Friends Diesel Tunnel Blast Train Set, die-cast engine and track set for preschoolers ages 3 years & older

The media could not be loaded. My son absolutely love his new train track. I was very easy to put together. Very durable because I have stepped on a track or two and it still kept its shape. Over all a good buy for Christmas.

My almost-three-year-old loves running the train down the track into the blocks which ends in a satisfying collision. It is just enough to excite him without making a mess (there are only three blocks after all). The problem is, there is little room for creative play beyond that- the track has some ups and downs but you can't really rearrange it in too many ways, and without any curves you can't really do anything other than a straight line. But for a kid around this age, it is a blast. We started adding more things to the tower (like legos and magnet tiles) to create a more epic crash at the end of the tunnel, and he laughs every time.

Great toy! My son is almost 4 and absolutely loves trains and cars. So I thought he would enjoy this and I was right. It was easy to assemble, the directions were clear. It comes with one small train but you can buy other trains at the store that also fit this track. He loved watching the barricade break over and over and even added other things on top of it to try and bust through it which was pretty funny. It’s pretty durable though it is plastic. I only had one small issue and that was that one of the little wheels had an extra little piece of plastic sticking out so it wasn’t turning as well as the other wheels but he didn’t seem to mind. He hasn’t even noticed actually. Great toy for small children! Also a great gift idea!

My three year old son is obsessed with Thomas the Train right now, and this was a great fix. Easy to put together, and he felt like he was helping. Once its finished, any age can use it to play. Not complicated, easy to set back up, and a lot of fun. Not as much replay value as a full train set, but can't beat this price or ease of use. Recommended.

We have several of these trackmaster sets but this is our least favorite one of those we have. Unlike most of the trackmaster sets this one does not come with a motorized car, just a push car similar to the wooden train sets. We didn't know that before we got this one, we assumed it was motorized just like all the others we have.Also, while the tunnel breaking feature is pretty neat, its only entertaining for a few tries.. and the fact that this set only includes straight track pieces makes it pretty boring from a track building perspective, so its really only good in combination with other sets. So basically I would only recommend this set if you have lots of other trackmaster sets to build with and want this one as an add-on, if you don't have other sets I would recommend buying one with motorized train and more versatile pieces.
