We purchased this to allow a 5-inch gap between 2 chainlink gates. Easy to install, heavy-duty product, and works well for our use. Allows the gates to remain partially open but prevents a human trespass.

We have 2 - 8' gates inside our barn alley. Great quick latch to hold gates together with one hand and easy to use. Keeps horses from pushing gate open with a flimsy chain. Very sturdy and easy to install.

This was fairly easy to set up, though worth noting that to get a decent attachment to your field gates you will need to drill a hole through each gate and drive the included carriage bolt through it. My gates were about 3 inches apart, but I found that the latch did not hold the gates perfectly aligned with the fence with room to sway 6 inches back and forth. After getting everything lined up, I adjusted my gates until the latch was at the minimum distance and I've found that it holds the gate in line with the fence much better now, though still some wiggle. Lock holes on both sides so you can lock from the inside for extra protection. All in all, this seemed like the best option to secure a double field fence and it has not disappointed. I would absolutely purchase again.

I don't get why chain link fence installers don't implement fence installs with more secure gates. I had 500' of six foot tall chain link fence with four 10 and 12 foot gates, and the security latches were bypassed almost immediately upon test. This product, however, works well. It's made of good thick steel, paintable, with a relatively easy to install, and fits a variety of smaller padlocks (which can be locked from either side). We did have to replace the self-drilling metal screws that secure the latch to the gate with larger diameter screws as that screw would come loose and fall out on the ground.

I'm a 70 yr female that does everything I can around my house myself. This was one of the easiest project I have done. If you are handy with tools this will take you about 15minutes to install. This latch is very strong and well made. It holds two driveway gates together very secure and is adjustable for easier installation. Read the description to make sure you are within that adjustability. I highly recommend this product.

Many years ago, a contractor tapped the post of my chain link fence gate with his truck, which widened the space between the two swinging gates about two inches. That rendered the standard, rounded latch unreliable, so I started using a U-lock to connect the gates. Two dogs later, I adopted an escape artist who figured out he could shimmy his 65# frame between the gates once he shook them enough to disengage the latch. I got tired of rigging things to keep Cowboy safely inside the fence and went on a search for a modified latch. Expectations were low, as I'd done the same thing years ago and found nothing.This latch is miraculous! Because the edges are squared, rather than rounded, and tuck snugly into channels on the opposite side of the gate, the gate doesn't budge at all once it's secured. It's heavy, too, and I'm confident it will be functioning long after I leave this mortal coil. There are holes on both sides, as well, so I can lock the gate from the inside or outside with a standard padlock. Installation was pretty easy. Drilling holes in the vertical parts of the gate was the hardest part, requiring a little patience, but the results are well worth it. I'd recommend this latch to anyone looking for a permanent solution to a nagging gate problem. Now I can protect Cowboy from the world and the world from Cowboy.
