If you like yellow cars would you like a Satin yellow turntable?
I adore yellow cars but even I had some doubts about a bright yellow turntable. Plus I could not decide between the Fluance RT85 or Project Carbon Evo. After a week of swopping around between the two and numerous reviews, the European build and look of the Pro-ject Carbon won the day. The turntable is superb, both in looks, quality and sound. I lost a Dual 505-2 turntable to ageing electrics that had lasted 35 years, replaced with an Audio-technica LP60X but wanted something a bit more specific. This fits the bill exactly and the sound is sensational even with the Ortofon 2M red stylus. I have the 2M blue as a backup but at the moment, the turntable is exactly what I was looking for. Amazing service from TVA/Electricshop that supplied in under 24 hours and has an exceptional customer service department. Most roads seem to end up at Henley Audio if you go Pro-Ject and their website looks exceptional. For just under £500 the turntable seems unbeatable value and the ability to upgrade to get the quality of £1000 + turntables is perfect for me. It is not far off £1000 turntables out of the box and once the 2M blue is fitted maybe that will be it. Set up is straightforward but not without 'fun'. The anti-skate is odd. Basically a small weight attached to a loop of fishing line. Not easy to fit as there is a tendency for the loop to fall off the groove and the line is so thin it is difficult to see. Loads of Youtube videos to help but I ended up adjusting the holding arm slightly outwards so that the fishing line stayed in place. Try to get the line as close to the horizontal as you can by adjusting the arm. It also helps once you have it 'fitted' to leave it completely alone for a couple of hours so it 'fixes' itself to the groove with pressure. One last thing. Instructions. Clear, simple, all in English, easy to follow and everything packed securely. And yes, if you love a yellow and black mix, this will suit you100%. It does not look tacky or cheap. It looks sensational.

Great sound, and the good looks to match
This was the first high-quality turntable that I ever had to "set up". But the instructions were super clear and easy to follow. It was fun putting a little extra care into this purchase. Once it was all hooked up, I tested a favourite record that my previous turntable would skate across. The Debut Carbon Evo was solid. Also really appreciated the quality connector wire with grounding included in the package. I've had set up now for a few weeks, and I still can't get over how good the satin blue finish looks. I'm loving every bit of this piece of hifi gear.

Lovely turntable.
I took a lot of time deciding on which turntable or record player to buy and this is everything I was hoping for. Lovely to look at and sounds great. I chose this as a high quality start that has options for upgrading in the future and the set up instructions were very clear. I had an e-mailed code for the delivery driver and all went well.

Revisiting Vinyl
I bought this turntable after starting to rebuild my old vinyl collection. My friend gave me an old deck to get started but I felt I should get something up to date. I did loads of research and this deck was top of my list within my price range. It was very easy to put together and set up and it sounds fantastic

A definite upgrade.
The media could not be loaded. This is my second Pro-ject turntable, the first being the entry level model. I have always been impressed with quality to buck ratio but quite frankly I'm blown away with the upgraded Debut Carbon Evo II. The whole turntable, from plinth to platter, feels incredibly robust and solid. The platter itself is pretty weighty at about 1.7kg giving it a reassuringly meaty feel and you can certainly tell the difference when spinning a disc.Set up was extremely easy, as always. I didn't change any other equipment so it was a simple plug in play. The tone arm set up was simplicity itself, I seem to remember the aluminium arm being a lot harder to balance, not the carbon arm, literally took about 30 seconds. The overall aesthetic is pleasing, a thicker plinth in satin blue and a slightly larger footprint, again, gives the feel of quality, I especially like the electronic speed change, a must for me after years of fiddling with the belt with my sausage fingers it's pure luxury.Sound quality will always depend on what other equipment you have. I never scrimped on pre-amp, amp, speakers & cables so I'm now realising my previous Pro-ject let the whole system down, this one, however, feels like I'm getting the best out of my kit.In summary, another great turntable from Pro-ject. A definite step up from entry level models, noticeably so, but still very affordable.A very happy chappie am I!

Great turntable at this price point.
Sound quality is very good, damping is noticeably better than the turntable it replaced. Cartridge is an improvement from the audio technica at95e also.Setup is not difficult and the turntable looks very pleasing and minimalist.I would recommend you use a stylus pressure guage to double check the tracking force as the stylus tracks best at bang on 1.7g.

A great deck which punches well above it's weight for the cost. Brilliant.
The sound quality for the money is remarkable. The build quality of the deck is excellent and the tone arm gives exceptional performance with good motor isolation. However the dust cover could be made of more substantial, perhaps of a harder and maybe smoked acrylic rather than the clear material used. It arrived slightly scratched but was replaced very quickly by the excellent supplier.
