KorgmicroKORG XL+ 37-Key Synthesizer/Vocoder with Expanded PCM

I am really enjoying using this to play vocals for my music. The device has preset vocoder options with some ability to make adjustments, but I have also started using some other modules as it has its limitations. There are some really nice instruments here as well though. I like that it does not take up a lot of space and keep it on a small shelf. So I feel like it was worth the cost.

This is a great synth for old players and new alike. The presets are great and you can create some great sounds right away while you learn the mechanics of creating your own. Highly recommend for beginners or those (like me) rekindling their interest in synthesizers.

I bought a lot of different equipment. This I use a lot. Love it and always loved korg. Sounds great. Just as advertised. It's there in the bottom of the pic.

I really want to like this thing, as it sounds good and has an easy-to-understand voice architecture. But the warnings were true, the build quality is so bad it's kind of insulting. It does not even sit flush on a flat surface for one. All the knobs feel cheap and wobbly. The backlight is so dim you have to squint. There are too few immediately accessible parameters and the amount of menu diving needed to do anything is, just bad, trust me. There are hundreds of parameters and lots of parameters with hundreds of values, now imagine trying to precisely edit all that with a little knob. I would rather not need a computer to tweak sounds. I would also rather have fewer parameters to tweak but all easily accessible like the original MicroKorg. If you only care about presets then this won't apply to you but I have to wonder what the point of having on-board editing was at all when clearly this is geared towards the type who just wants to load a preset and go.I will give the keys a B-. They must have improved them since the original XL since they are not bad and I found them easy to play. But I think I want a MicroKorg since from my experience they are better built and easier to program. Just only 4 voices... first world problems I tell ya.

A very affordable "Swiss knife" with personality and capabilities beyond expectations. My first vocoder lots of fun. Vintage sounds are really a plus

The MKXL+ is exactly what i was looking for. I am a singer, and i needed a small synth with a nice sound to play small arrengements in some songs, so, this fills all my expectations.

If you're trying to decide wether to buy this or the Korg microKorg XL Analog Modeling Synthesizer with Vocoder (black), I suggest you buy the microKorg XL. I bought this a few months ago after having some problems with the microKorg XL, and I really regret it. The sounds on this (especially the synth pads and leads) sound horrible and not as authentic.

I have a lot to learn with this thing but I love the vocoder. You can overwrite the instruments and make new ones... follow the how tos on youtube.

Got this for my son's 16th. Awesome starter synth. Love the new "tape" samples on this modle. The sound quality is rich and vibrant with many of the classic Korg samples.
