Great charger!
I couldn’t be more pleased with my purchase of the Grizzl-E Classic Level 2 EV Charger! The "dumb" charger -- meaning not the 'smart' charger is what I came to purchase after reading about the internet connectivity issues. This charger is simple, works great, looks great and I am very happy with this item.Easy Installation: The NEMA 14-50 plug makes setup a breeze – just plug it in, and you’re ready to go. No need for complicated wiring or professional installation unless you’re mounting it permanently. [yes, there should be a cover on the exterior NEMA outlet! - but that is between me and my electrician... separate from the grizzl-e itself,]Robust Build Quality: The metal case enclosure feels solid and built to last. It’s UL Certified, which gave me peace of mind about safety, and it performs beautifully outdoors, even in heavy rain.Super Fast Charging: With 40A output, my hybrid Jeep wrangler charges from zero to full in just over a couple hours.Weather-Resistant Design: This charger lives outside, and the fact that it’s designed to handle various weather conditions has proven true. I haven’t experienced any hiccups, even in wet conditions – this thing is a tank![Note: AI helped me write this review, however, it was edited and submitted by a real live human, and I did indeed purchase the grizzl-e charger and installed it on my house as shown in the attached image.]

Great product. Easy to install.
Recently got my first electric vehicle and wanted to have 240v charger at home for occasional use (can charge at charging stations under a prepaid plan for free so I won’t be using this on a daily basis but good to have for those occasions that I need to charge overnight at home). The product gets high rating from others here and it should. It looks rugged and it feels rugged, and the delivery was great from Amazon. I had a licensed electrician add a 50 amp. Breaker to my main panel and install at 240 V outlet which this gets plugged into. I did not want any bells and whistles of Wi-Fi, etc. in my charger. I wanted the basic charger that is plugged and play as my car can do all sorts of functions on its own charging software. I tried this charger last night and it worked well and I set my car to draw 40 amps. Which was 9kw per hour charging. I will likely go even lower than that and do 30 A which gives 7.5 kW per hour. That should be very safe and reasonable to charge the car overnight will not stress the car battery or the wiring or the breaker in any way. .

Very robust, works well, completely satisfied.
I purchased the Grizzl-E Classic Level 2, 40 Amp with the NEMA 14-50 plug. Everything about it is robust. The aluminum case that houses the electric/electronic components is very rigid and heavy. The cables are flexible yet sturdy. The J1772 connector is solid and fits correctly.I prefer that this charger has no wireless communication or app that you'd have to use with a smart-phone to get it to work. In my opinion, those are unnecessary. My car's app gives me all the control I need or want. There is no need to pay twice for technology to duplicate what I already have.Additional information comes from a single multi-function/multicolor LED that shows ready, in use, finished charging and also flashes trouble codes (explained in the manual). I plugged it in, and it just worked.I like the fact that this charger is made in North America. According to the manufacturer's website, all the materials and electronics are sourced in Canada or the USA. I'm no electrical engineer, but opening the chassis (4 screws, it's designed to be opened) increased my confidence. Everything is laid out well, and clearly labeled. The electrical connections and components inside seem especially solid, and of good quality. The good workmanship inside is obvious. The user's manual is clear and plain English, with good illustrations and straightforward explanations. It's all the information you need, logically laid out.Amperage output is selectable through small switches inside. I chose 30 Amp output, (my car only has a 6.6 kW inverter, so it can draw no more than 27 Amps) but higher and lower outputs are also possible.I chose to hard-wire the charger. The Grizzl-E already has GFCI (ground circuit interrupter) protection, built in, but in my jurisdiction, any receptacle in a potentially wet location, such as a garage floor, requires a GFCI circuit breaker. Since double GFCI is potentially problematic and GFCI breakers and high-quality NEMA 14-50 receptacles are expensive, hard-wiring was an obvious -- and considerably less expensive solution. The only complaint I have is that the "holster" that holds the J-1772 connector when not is use does not permit you to use the provided J-1772 dust and moisture cap. However, since my charger is at the back of the garage, the holster alone should sufficiently protect the J-1772 connector's contacts. That niggle aside, the holster also holds the charger's cord when not in use, so that's a plus. All in all, I'm very satisfied. I recommend it without hesitation.
