Petz Trend Cat Nip for Cat Sofa Lounge

2nd time purchase of this cardboard cat scratcher sofa and just as happy: the ‘sofa’ is of solid and sturdy build with strong base and sides and 3 thick, heavy scratch pads. It’s larger than many of the cheaper alternatives here and fits a fully grown big male cat (see photo). Our foster male cat loved it immediately (especially since I sprinkled some of the included catnip on it) and played in it, chased his tail on it, played with a toy in it, and scratched it happily (constantly) which has stopped him scratching our leather couch. This sofa isn’t cheap, but I think it’s worth the additional cost as the quality is high. I also note replacement scratch pads are available, so I will be making use of those in future - although our last sofa lasted over a decade!

A well made product of sturdy construction of durable material. At an affordable price which means our cat can enjoy a restful time afr\#ter his exertions without high outlay. Thoroughly recommended.

My cat was waiting by the box for me to unpack it. As soon as it was out, he jumped in, gave it a happy scratch and settled down for a nap. I put it out the way for now but my other cat found it and did the same thing. It's a real cat magnet, and that's without opening the catnip! The outer box looks quite sturdy and I like the cute cartoon cats on it. The inserts are of a quite soft, open weave, like most cat scratchers I've seen/used, so will be easy and comfortable for them to scratch on, which they like. Its not so very wide inside so they can't curl round in it, but that didn't seem to matter to them. All in all, though I haven't put it into daily use yet, I'm very happy with it and wish I'd bought two. My cats love it. Happy all round!

Like all products designed for cats, it's impossible to say whether your cat will like it or not. We have 6 cats and 5 of them use this regularly. Some use it just for scratching and a couple like to lounge around on it. It's a good size (although our cats aren't massive so do check the dimensions before buying) and it's handy that the scratchy base and sides can be reversed so you get more wear out of them. We've bought several of these now and they're a hit! You get a little bag of catnip with it, which is a nice bonus.

I gave this to my cats two weeks ago and it was an instance success as they have scratched it, slept in it, chewed it, taken all of the pieces out and put them back together again (on their own), take their toys to it . . . in other words, love it to bits, quite literally. The outer cardboard frame has not survived their fascination with this product and it is now, after only two weeks, completely flattened with large chunks bitten off. It is absolutely brilliant from their point of view - hence the 4 stars - but can't give it 5 stars as it hasn't lasted long. I'd recommend it, for sure, but it is not Maine Coon/Norwegian Forest Cat proof (but I'm not sure what is).

I've bought at least three of these now, and two others for friends. Very similar to those recommended by Jackson Galaxy - looking for scratch furniture is how I stumbled across this product. Both my cats love this and use it every day, even dozing on it sometimes. The furniture has lost virtually all its attraction for them in favour of the cat scratch sofa.Even the older, most scratched-up sofas are still doing occasional duty in odd corners, beside a bed, by the conservatory door....it comes delivered with catnip, which is a plus but not essential once they're used to the 'sofa ', cats will use it anyway. Flipping the cardboard panels over to use the other side of the cardboard makes this a long-lasting, brilliant product. Thanks guys.Minor point - could it be made a bit less, err, visible? Great replacement parts for cat sofa cat loved it.

Arrived very quickly, as described, is a good size and sturdy. My mature cats love it and the box it came in is now the favoured bed for my big tom cat. My 17+ year old spends as much time laying on the scratch sofa as scratching it and it is perfect for her as she doesn't go out much these days and is now scratching the scratch sofa rather than the old basket woven table top which she used to favour. The 'boys' take turns when they can! Even though, like many cats, mine adore cardboard, I wasn't sure how they would take to something this new to them but I'm pleasantly surprised and very happy with my purchase.
