Emtek E3020 EMTouch Electronic Keypad Deadbolt from the Brass Modern Collection, Flat Black

We have numerous other Emtek locks and sadly this model just did not hold up at all. It’s easy to install and looks nice but that’s where it ends. The durability of this item is absolutely horrible. They use pot metal and it’s as if the gear simply failed that engages the locking mechanism after less than 2 weeks and literally only actuated the locking mechanism less than a dozen times. We have had issues with our other Emtek locks and while they do replace them warranty wise, it’s a major hassle and I now have to chase them down to issue the credit back to my credit card which I had to provide as a guarantee we would return the broken lock. Never again Emtek. Our Schlage lock similar to this has been flawless and other family members use the Schlage locks as well and they too have had excellent luck with them after over 2 years.

I would give this 10 stars if I could. Absolutely the best on the market. Forget all the other brands and get yourself one of these from Emtek. They are owned by Assa Abloy, the leader in commercial door hardware so you know their products are top notch. This came with great instructions, was super easy to install and works flawlessly. Plus this comes in black which is hard to find in this style deadbolt. You won't be disappointed with this!! So glad I purchased.

Works like an Emtek should, forever. Left my last one on my last home i sold and it was 7 yrs old.Always buy Emtek, Great customer service too

Put Emtek in my whole house after a remodel in 2014. Not impressed with ANY of it other than the look. Had multiple electronic lock sets fail, replaced under warranty, fail again after just a few months. Non electronic handsets have clunky mechanism on half of them. The sales person had tried to talk me out of Emtek but my designer insisted. Should have listened to the salesman. Regarding this particular item, it is very pretty to look at, functions well, but the keypad cover does not last. After a few months there were little marks on the numbers we used the most. After 3 years now you cannot even see the numbers due to all of the scratches. Makes it hard for people to use who are not familiar with it as they can't see what they are pressing. Would definitely not buy unless you are willing to replace every couple of years. The matching handle set failed after about a year out of warranty--had to pay a locksmith to come out and replace the mechanism. I will never buy Emtek again.

Agree that the lock functions great, but after one year and six months the gears wore out and I need to replace it. Customer service is nice but one year warranty is all you get. For this price lock, I expect better quality.

Bought this lock last year for a summer house we were renovating. Worked great. After all the contractors were finished we just changed the code.We're buying another for our home!
