We have a Lenovo Thinkpad T410 that was beginning to disconnect regularly from the WiFi network for no reason, and then would not reconnect without restarting, giving a "Can't Connect to Network" error in Windows 10. I bought this new internal WiFi card to try and solve the problem, in case it was the old 6200 card that was failing. Physically replacing the card was fairly straightforward, but then we had to reflash the T410 BIOS because by default, Lenovo restricts what network hardware can be installed, and this card isn't on the Whitelist. So, lots of messing about with Rufus and dodgy-looking 3rd-party hacked BIOS files from the interweb.After that, the card installed fine and worked properly. For a day I thought the problem was solved and then the disconnections started again. So, I don't think it's this card's fault - I think it's some kind of interplay between Windows 10's latest updates, these old-standard WiFi cards, and modern mesh networks.As a last-gasp attempt, I bought a plug-in USB WiFi dongle ( https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B07PNQ6JWC ) and I'm happy to say I've since had no problems using that instead, albeit it's a bit annoying to have a dongle permanently sticking out of the T410. Still, I'm happy it's saved this 11 year old laptop from the scrap heap for a bit longer, as it's an absolute trooper in every other respect!
