This movie was funny and sweet. It was surprisingly well written and acted. Cloë Grace Moretz (spelling?) was really good in the film and I like the actor that played her immediate supervisor. He had a small role in the Lincoln Lawyer too. Memorable cameo performance.The director limited the CG characters’ (Tom and Jerry, the fancy feline, etc.) screen time and sort of relegated them to supporting roles. This was a wise decision. Although, some of the funniest moments of the movie included the cartoon characters for which the film is named.The alley cats were hilarious and so were the Angel and Devil Toms that appeared on either shoulder and gave Tom advice. The voice actors were great. I didn’t look to see who voiced these roles, but it sounded like professional comedians.On a side note, the soundtrack was also great. I think the opening credits had a Velvet Underground song accompanying. And some good hip hop tunes too. The songs they chose supported each scene perfectly.I didn’t think this movie was going to be any good at all, but I needed to pick a kids’ movie in a hurry. I am glad I picked Tom and Jerry and I recommend the film.If you looking for the film to have nothing but T and J chasing each other around, like in the original classic cartoons, then you might be disappointed with this movie. That’s the reason for the 4 star review. Otherwise I would have given it 5 stars.

THE MOVIE WAS VERY FUNNY, BUT TOM & JERRY DIDN'T LOOK LIKE THE REAL TOM & JERRY AND THAT'S WHAT BOTHERED ME, FUNNY KIDS

Grandkids, 11 and 15 still liked this one. They like to laugh and all the shenanigans. Good lighthearted movie, better than some out there.

Our family enjoy this movie. As my husband is a big Tom and Jerry fan. It was nice to have some voices in this version. A funny story line
