This Device Is An Asset!
Even when reading the reviews, I was skeptical that something could be so easy to use and effective. I truly expected that my phone would fall off a percentage of time. I use a Samsung Note 4, and I use a case with it. It is dead simple to get this thing up and operable, no issues there. I have to agree with one of the other reviewers that stated the part that tightens the unit into the CD slot is a bit large (if you are like me, your screen sits below the CD insert and this screw blocks it just a bit). Not a deal breaker, given what it actually accomplishes. I drive a 2014 Toyota Prius, so this is the issue, but like I said, not a horrible thing. The other reviewer stated that he bought a screw from a hardware store that was less obtrusive; I'd like to know the part number and store so that I could do the same. In due time, I guess. I looked at quite a few of these types of item, and this one seemed to resonate positively with me for some reason. Unless you exert an unnecessary amount of force on the unit to tighten into the CD slot, which is not needed, then I believe that it will be pretty fail safe. This thing sits up quite nicely and has made life a lot easier (prior to this, I was resting my phone in my lap, and I rely on it for GPS, or I'd hold it at eye level while driving, not the smartest thing to do, I know). I only use my phone as GPS and for calls when driving, but that was cumbersome before I bought this. If there's one TINY quibble, it's that the angle doesn't go just a tiny tad further downward, but that's me being extremely nitpicking about the whole thing. The magnet is very strong, and just one tiny plate (I used the sticking rectangular plate on my phone, it sits between the phone and the case) does the trick very well. I live in the Baltimore/DC area, and this thing has held up surprisingly well with all of the potholes and crappy roads. In my development alone, we have very rough as-of-yet-unpaved roads and I have no issues or worries. I would buy this product again. The best part is that you get 3 little plates for devices. Couldn't be happier with an item, very good buy.

Note the location of your DVD AND CD players prior to purchase
The magnet for this holder is great! Phone never falls off or swivels (although you are able to adjust the angle of the magnet in 360 degrees...and it is fairly easy to insall; however, I have a few conflicts:- There is a knob underneath, that you use to tighten/secure the holder into the CD/DVD player. It never seems to be tight/secure enough because the entire holder will easily slide out of the CD/DVD player sometimes when I grab the phone because of how strong the magnet is. It also shifts side to side easily and then slips out the CD/DVD player when I'm attempting to adjust the magnet angle.- Another conflict; not at the fault of the item but the vehicle. When I initially purchased the holder, I had a Ford Excape where the CD player was up top by the dashboard. I was previously attaching my phone to a magnet just above it; however, my phone would overheat and shut off becase it was sitting too long in the sun so I got this holder to get the phone out of the sun. However, during the holder's delivery, we traded the Ford in for a Chevy Traverse, which has both a CD & DVD player so I have to move my phone to insert/eject DVDs while the holder is in the CD player below it.- Another issue with its placement is not being able to see the time/radio station while the phone is on the holder nor while the holder is in the CD player by itself, so I either have to take the holder out or maneuver things around so I can see the information I need.- This placement/location also makes it difficult to properly access the knob to tighten the holder into the CD player because my knuckle keeps hitting the power/volume button for my radio. While this is not the fault of the holder itself, it is definately something you should probably consider when purchasing it or else it would be useless! The manufacturer could also, possibly look into an alternate method to secure the holder into the CD player; and somehow move the knob location??Overall, it serves its purpose - keeps the phone out of the sun & is placed in a location where I can easily view navigation, if needed.
