This knife is extremely well made and with all the references to German steel, the name itself and also the label on the handle referring to Munchen - my assumption was it was made in Germany - in fact, once again, this is an import from China. Amazon really should taken pains to make it abundantly clear as to the country of origin on the front page of the product. One thing I should warn about is one of the pro points and that is the sharpness. I would image it would be fairly easy to take off, or at least do serious damage, to a finger. If you are cutting through a crusty load it would be possible for the blade to slip and so care should be taken. Overall it is an excellent knife and worth the price.A final point is that there is a blade covering. It is fine for the short term but it is made of card and will not last. I would have preferred a more robust sheath for the blade even if it was available at an extra cost and supplied separately.

This knife is a great length for cutting wide loaves, and is sharp and solid feeling. Totally worth it.

Does the job well. Especially on the hard crusted Italian loaves.

Handles nicely and slices as expected.

If you tend to make bread at home, this is a great knife for the larger cuts. Very durable. Shame it doesn't come with a sleeve of some sort.

I am thrilled to get this beautiful serrated knife! It’s crafted in Germany. It’s sharp as a razor and it is heavy! I can’t believe the quality of this knife for the price I paid!!You have to see it to believe it!!Soooo Happy!!

Bought this because it looked like a good purchase. The country of origin states USA, The box states on 3 sides, --Made in China. I consider this misleading and false information

This is an excellent bread knife; and quite sharp.My thumb has almost healed completely at this point! LOL! (I slipped cutting a piece of stale hard sourdough bread.)This knife cuts fresh baked sourdough bread like a dream, among other appropriate foods (I wouldn’t cut meat with it, but it cuts tomatoes very nicely.)My old “cheap” bread knife would bend and not cut harder breads. This slices very nicely; and is at a good price.
