Works great, just takes a little getting used to.
Watch the Japanese-English subtitled instructional video, you'll wish you had if you don't. Explains perfectly how this works and what it does so well.Comparing it against the Harbor Freight chainbreaker equivalent, this is much better made. I used an angle grinder to cut down the master link before removing the pins, but this could have easily removed them without doing so. That alone was enough to defeat the Harbor Freight equivalent, so it's a better tool right out the door.As mentioned, it takes a little fiddling around to get everything just right, but if you follow the instructional video, you'll have a perfectly done chain. I'd recommend this tool, and you can land it at a solid discount if you follow it for a few weeks, it goes on sale frequently for a solid amount less.

Only $20 pin for $60 - SHAM/Fraud
I have used the complete KMR500 and it is great. THIS IS ONLY THE PIN. The add is 100% wrong. Nowhere in the description does it say pin only. It shows the tool KMR500 kit pictured and describes what you think you are buying. This should be removed from Amazon!! Read the reviews. I was too late. It is a lot less money than other posts for the same tool. I thought, oh nice a great sale price. I’ll return immediately and do my best to inform future buyers and Amazon.

DID TOOL WORKS BEST.
DID has made a fine tool. I was able to install my new DID chain in a couple of hours and it works perfectly. I didn't press the pins out, rather I used a grinder to take the rivet heads down to the side plate, and a chisel to separate it from the link. To me it was quicker. The reassembly went smoothly following the instructions. This tool is extremely strong. Highly recommend this tool. The other tool I've used in the past is now in the trash can.

Get a quality tool the first time.
Recently I purchase a cheaper version of a chain cut and riveting tool, I ruined two master links trying to get it aligned properly, First one I tightened the tool to much causing the xrings too crush slightly while getting the plate over the pins but I continued anyway, the plate had two holes that need to be lined up with the pins that would keep spinning right taking the pins/rivets out of alignment of the two holes, if you look closely at the cheaper versions you can see this slop in them, The D.I.D tool has NO slop holding the plate in alignment and no holes needing to be aligned, it also is impossible to overtighten the plate following the video on the D.I.D website, The riveting portion is the same way and easy as pie, I wasted $42 on Masterlinks and two hours of my time not to mention a week ordering new masterlinks trying to do it without the D.I.D tool and now I have a quality tool that I can keep on my adventure bike.

Top Notch Pro Tool
I purchased this tool to facilitate a chain replacement on one of my motorcycles. I went with the DID tool because of it's obvious superior design AND I am using a DID chain (#1 OEM motorcycle chain in the world). This tool is outstanding and does a perfect job. Watch the YouTube video by the DID race mechanic (it is in Japanese, but with the exceptional detail, graphics and subtitles you will be confident in the task). Notes: Use long shank box end wrenches as used in the video. It takes quite a bit of force to press on side plates and to peen the rivets. Checking your work as you go with a digital caliper is the way to go.

D.I.D. gets the job done like a pro.
Was searching for a new chain cutter and after using a cheap model, trust me it is worth spending a “few more” dollars on a quality tool. Presses out links nicely. Puts nice looking rivets on your new chain master. Tool is very robust, made Japan. Use with a 19 and 27mm wrench. Nice little plastic case with English and Japanese instructions.

Only rivet pin
In the description it says chain cutting and riveting tool. But all that arrived is the pin for riveting

Worth the money
I was skeptical about getting this do to price but I’m also a big believer in (you get what you pay for) . My biggest concern was the pin used to remove the chain pins because every other riveters review I read had problems with it bending on 1st or 2nd use. Was not the case. Very well made. I was originally going to use a grinder for the chain but didn’t have an extension. So far I used it twice and it’s more than sturdy. Very easy to use. I’m only writing this review because I’m very skeptical about buying things online but this really was worth it. I hope this helps. If this product has a negative review it’s because whoever used it is a moron
