Got me to 4 feet deep with no problems
I purchased the Thunderbay 8"x36" bit, but needed holes 4 feet deep. I added this extension to it, and it worked great! The metal is hollow, but still quite thick and heavy-duty feeling. The bolt that comes with this did not fit into the slot on my Auger, so I used an extra R-Pin and that held up great. I dug 14 holes 4 feet deep using this extension, and it has no signs of damage. My Auger is only rated for 40" bits, and was still able to dig 48" deep using the 36" bit+this extension. For reference, the Auger I have is nothing fancy, it's the Harbor Freight Predator. The soil I was digging in is hard and rocky, so this was a great test for it.Note: If you have the Harbor Freight Predator Auger, you will have to connect this with an R-Pin instead of the supplied bolt that comes with it, or buy a different bolt. The supplied bolt was slightly too big for the hole on the Predator.

It works well enough with HF augers
Bought this for the cheap HF auger I bought last summer to get the depth I needed because HF offering one for their own product just wouldn't make ANY sense. Anyway the shaft sizes mate up as do the holes, unfortunately the pin holes in this are larger than those on the HF mount. Whatever, I just bought a square lock pin sized for the HF holes and left it at that. Last summer I dug 6 holes for a buddy's coop and this year 3 for fenceposts for our garden. There is more wobble with the extension but that doesn't really come into play when the auger's in the hole. Just make sure you keep pulling up to clear the spoil and you'll be good to go.

Need a longer auger, get an extension. Fits the Eskimo augers
If you need a longer auger, get an extension. This one fits Eskimo augers. Works well, fits good. Heavy, well built. No issues, it's an extension after all. Pretty basic, but well made.

Extension works great
The extension works great and fit perfectly on my auger. My only complaint is the hardware to mount it to the auger could be a little better. It came with a standard bolt and nut, unlike the auger which came with a heavier bolt and locking nut so the vibration won't cause it to come loose.

Fits my Harbor Freight auger well
It fits my Harbor Freight augur well. It’s easy to put on and take off but isn’t wobbly in the joints. The quality of the product seems nice with a good paint job and a sturdy connecting pin made with thick metal. The value for the price is great and you’ll be happy with the purchase.

Hard rod.
Its an extension. It works well. Kind of hard to mess up.

Works once you prep it
This device works and looks to be solid. The over use of paint on the connection points does not allow it to slide in and out. I had to sand off all the paint to get it slide in and bolt up. If they could engineer it a little smaller or don't paint the ends this would be perfect. I bought the 18in extension and it was a little much for starting so being able to take it on and off is needed.

Extends the auger
This makes the auger shaft longer, no pills needed
