Great sound
Radio and Bluetooth works great and easy to pair with our iPhones. Volume is loud. We have not yet tried the cassette tape.

Impressive current boombox
I’m actually really impressed at the sound and features this boombox provides. I wish it was rechargeable, but you have to use 4 D batteries. The sound was loud even at the lowest setting, which I loved. FM radio works great and has a true antenna.

Love it
Before ordering I considered this one over many others but kept by passing it. I noticed reviews complaining of size. Well I like the size. I wanted to play my cassettes in my shop while tinkering around the house and this is perfect. I wasn't looking for the 80s boombox as big as a refrigerator door to set on my shoulder and wasn't looking for a polly pocket sized either. This is a good size with good features and plays my old cassetes well.

Blown speakers right out of the box
The media could not be loaded. Seems like a decent unit except for the fact that the speakers are completely blown. Haven’t even had it out of the box 5 min. Terrible sound on radio and especially tapes. Useless will be returning tomorrow. So also a waist of my time. It wasn’t exactly cheap either.

Great looks and sound cheap materials.
This easily could have been a 5 out 5 if it wasn't so cheaply made. My son wanted a boom box BT after using our little Victrola one I just reviewed. So he picked this out. Looks wise LOVE it looks great. Sound quality is actually pretty damn good for what it is. It's much more fuller than the Victrola one speaker mini boom box. We tested almost all formats, tape, BT and Radio, we didn't test the USB or SD Card, I don't think that would have made a difference. The only problem is so many things feel very cheap compared to the Victrola, the knobs and switches and very loose, the handle flops, loosely . I do not have any confidence the antenna will last before it won't stay fully extended, I also don't trust the included power cord, it's very thin and short and don't trust that it won't start a fire LOL I will look for a quality 3rd party cord. The Tape deck, it does well, buttons are more firm and stiff that you would expect, the eject has a nice slow descent .But it redeems itself with it's sound quality It's actually really good for this category. The under $100 retro boombox BT/Radios. When compared to the Victrola it does have a wider range, more fullness. Now the Victrola does have decent sound quality but this is better. Also I liked the FM tuner and it's toggle that had a nice drag tension to it., Stations came in clear and picked up a lot even with the antenna in its resting slot. So that was enough, at least for now, for us to keep it, plus my son LOVES the look of the red model we bought. They nailed the looks and sound but they used a ton of cheap materials to piece this together. but it serve it's purpose

For the Lloyd Doblers of the modern age!
I am not ashamed to say I was a teenager in the mid to late 80's. Having a portable radio was the best freedom. No longer were you subject to whatever your parents were playing on the turntable or 8-track on the huge stereo console cabinet (it was really a thing). You had AM and FM radio. and if you were really something, you even had a cassette deck so you could record your favorite songs when they were played. Why? Because most of us couldn't afford to buy albums! I know, I know; everyone streams now. But what about when the internet is down or the power is out? What then? Radio, baby! But wait - there's more! This thing looks a lot like my old radio, but it has modernized innards! The radio selector has AM, FM, and shortwave. There is a tape deck. AND - AND - AND, there is a USB port and an SD card slot. That's right - DIGITAL. AND - AND - AND Bluetooth support! Most radios I have seen in the last 10 or so years have dinky little cord antennas. This guy has a proper old-school aerial antenna that folds down and latches next to the handle. It's big and does the job! The tuning dial is strictly analog. The AC power cord is tucked inside the battery compartment in the rear. Remember C cell batteries? Yeah, get 4! And there's a headphone jack on the right side. Plus the full-width folding carry handle. Gosh, this thing takes me back.I plugged it in, scrounged up a cassette, and started it up. One really weird discovery I made is the seeming discrepancy of one of the controls. I always remember that for Rewind, the arrows would point to the left, for going back in time. On this radio, that third button that points to the left is labeled as FF instead of rewind. The labels are correct and the arrows are incorrect. Normally, Rewind would be to the left of Fast Forward, but that is not the case here. It's the only 'off' thing I have found so far. Note: the tape door has the nice soft open, rather than the jerky slam of some of the tape players of my youth.I have a favorite radio station that I listen to when I drive around town, and the radio picked it up right away. The speakers are proportionally large, so the sound is BIG. I turned the volume down very low. There are also knobs for treble and bass, just like the old ones. You can record - the microphone is labeled on the corner just above the left speaker.I haven't yet scrounged up an SD card to test playback. And at the moment I don't have a free USB stick to test that slot, either. The Bluetooth functionality makes the unit a Bluetooth speaker.Aside from that wonky FF << business, I love this thing!
