We Love Doodles Slicker Brush (Large)

This brush worked extremely well for about 1 month. But after each use, bristles would get unevenly pushed in, leaving some taller than others. The bristles are now angled at different angles and directions as well. I tried it on my palm and the brush is now catches on my palm, is scratchy, painful, and COULD CAUSE INJURY to my pup. DO NOT RECOMMEND.

As a first time doodle owner, I was struggling to keep my Bernedoodle from developing mats even though I was brushing her daily.Unfortunately, because of this, the groomer kept having to shave her down to get the mats out. I even tried a dematting tool that looked a bit “scary” for my pup and that still didn’t work!So this brush with its relatively “soft”/safe and extra long bristles has been a blessing to us both! Grabbing the undercoat and keeping her perfectly puffed and dematted! Even today, we went to the groomer who exclaimed, “you look great!” before she had even been groomed! Proud pawrent moment and therefore worthy of a product to review with hopes of helping other struggling doodle owners out there!

I am in love! I am semi new to owning a golden doodle for two years. I have been struggling to be able to maintain my dog's curly hair. I've tried several different brushes and combs that just didn't seen to keep up with the curls and would have taken way too much brushing to keep up. I wanted to let his beautiful hair grow but kept cutting it short just to keep out the knots. This brush has been the answer I needed!!!! It gets out the tangles!! I just bring the brush through slowly and I have a super fluffy untangled puppy!!

I bought both this brush and the smaller version of the “red” competitor, thinking the smaller one would be better for my 22lb 11mo old mini goldendoodle. My 8 yo 75lb standard poodle loves the blue brush, but he has had years of professional fluffing from the groomer. He practically drools as I brush him and this brush gives a much more professional finish than the usual slicker brushes bought at the pet store. Both the red & blue brushes really grab & pull the hair more than I’m used to, so my smaller pup hates them both. I am working to get her used to it and find the blue one is a little easier on her than the smaller red one so this blue one is definitely the favorite for both dogs. By the 5th brushing she is getting more tolerant. Spreading peanut butter on her knobby Nylabone to occupy her while brushing certainly helps ;-)

I am a first time doodle owner. I have an Old English Sheepdog and Poodle mix. Grooming is expensive and even more devastating when you bring her in to the groomer only to have her returned shaved and looking totally different but I understand why. We never had success brushing her. She hates it and nips at us when we try. Every time she gets shaved, we tell ourselves, we will do better and stay on top of the brushing but between her harness we use for car trips and her collar, those pesky matts easily come back.This brush however she tolerates a bit. :) It's still a chore to get her to sit still and often it takes one to hold her and the other to brush her, but even the toughest mats, we can drastically loosen them and get them brush out with minimal hair loss. So far it's been a great investment and I am happy with the purchase.
