Looks great, works as intended, easy install
The Yakima WindFairer is a great addition to any roof rack system, helping to reduce wind noise and improve aerodynamics while driving. It’s easy to install and fits most crossbars, making it a convenient upgrade for those who frequently use roof-mounted cargo carriers, bike racks, or kayak mounts. The sleek design not only enhances the look of your vehicle but also helps with fuel efficiency by minimizing drag. Made from durable materials, it holds up well against the elements and provides a quieter, smoother ride. For anyone looking to cut down on wind noise and improve their roof rack setup, the Yakima WindFairer is a solid choice.

Solid windfairing.
This is a nice windfairing. The mounts are not universal and do not fit some non-OEM roof rack rails. This requires tightening them down tighter than recommended. Also requires pushing them down hard onto the roof to avoid catching air underneath and vibration of the fairing (beating the roof/sunroof).Functionally, it works as designed. When flush to the roof, it stays in place and cuts down wind noise on the roof rack about 50-70% at speeds above 50. Still a bit of wind noise above 75.

Looks awesome on my VW MK7 GTI and reduces wind noise
I love the utility and look of the VW OEM roof racks on my VW MK7 GTI, but they added a fair amount of wind noise on highways. After evaluating a few brands, I decided to take a chance of Yakima 46" wind fairing - it was the size recommended by Yakima's manual.Installation was very straightforward - you basically run some straps through some openings and tighten them with the included wrench tool until they don't go anymore. The manual says you can optionally cut off any excess material, but I didn't feel like my extended too far so I left it as is. The kit also comes with some clear plastic patches to place on the roof of the car in case you hit a bump and the fairing makes contact.Overall, the installation only took a few mins of effort. I spent more time organizing the parts and visualizing than actual doing. No sweat! Some folks on VW message boards worry about the thickness of the OEM racks and 3rd party fairings, but as you can see from the photos, the Yakima wind fairing works fine and feels very secure.Wind noise has been reduced - I'm no longer conscious of it. Cosmetically, the wind fairing adds to the curb appeal of my car.I'm extremely happy with the purchase.

Looks nice and does the job
I bought it for looks tbh, but it also stopped the whistling I heard when I was driving with just the Yakima crossbars installed on my vehicle.

Fits 2018 Subaru Impreza
Fits my 2018 Impreza sport with the factory crossbars perfectly! Install was super easy, no wind noise and even took it through a car wash without issue.

Weak hardware that relays on proprietary zip-ties to mount.
Typically I am more impressed with the build quality of Yakima products. This however is an extremely over priced pice of plastic w/ zip-ties. I was suspect of the mounting system as soon as I opened the box. A proprietary zip-ties system! Really!?! The entire bracket is just for support between the shield/faring and the bar you mount to. The only thing that hold the brackets to the bar are fancy zip-ties. My first thought was, providing these even allow for a secur installation, when the sun deteriorated the slim plastic ties they are inevitably going to crack and fail. So I could already see a need to replace those every 2-3 years. And how much do they gouge you for those? Well luckily the insufficiency’s of the design stopped before I got that far. On the third bracket the toes snapped with at least a 1/2” of slack remains to be tightened. Seeing as brand new out of the box a piece of hardware failed well before it had even reached the amount of stress neede to properly tension it I decided I wasn’t going to waste anymore time with this right there. Back in the box. No thank you. Hope this saves someone else the trouble.

Awesome, fits my bronco sport
The assembly was really easy. It with on my bronco sport perfectly. I didnt use the plastic sticky circles, didn't want that on my car. I didn't think it was needed. Great fit, cancels noise. Seems good quality. Looks great too. Might put some stickers on mine
