Perfect for home assistant
These Aqara motion sensors work great with my home assistant zigbee dongle to control my closet lights and also the lights in my stairwell. I would buy these again if I needed simple easy to use motion sensors

Fast motion detection and light sensor that works with Home Assistant with Sky Connect
I bought this because I wanted to try it out with Home Assistant. So, I'm running a Raspberry Pi 5 with Home Assistant. I also have the SkyConnect Zigbee/Matter (or is it Thread? it confuses me) antenna connected to the Raspberry Pi running Home Assistant.I enabled pairing mode on the Aqara sensor and performed a search on Home Assistant. It found the sensor right away. I was able to configure a few testing Automations like turning on my Hue lights (I also have a Philips Hue bridge with Hue lights around the house) in the Living Room. Pretty neat having that cross product functionality. The motion sensor is responds quickly and is accurate. It also has a light sensor, but I don't use that functionality; at least not yet. It's zigbee 3.0 but I'm not sure if it is upgradable to Matter in the future.I plan to use this in the kitchen for a night light sensor for under the cabinet LED lights. I think it will work great with Home Assistant, WLED, and BTF light strips under the cabinet. I just have to create an automation that turns on the light strips when motion is detected during a specific time frame. Easy peazy!

Almost perfect
Had some hard times setting it up to work with HomeKit. However, the sensor works great, and no battery lose so far for 1.5 months of use.

A great addition to home automation and security
A quality item for home automation. I continue to build on things yearly to enhance my productivity at home. Easy to sync to the hub, interfaces with Apple HomeKit seamlessly. Mounting or placement of the device is very simple and sturdy.

Love Aqara smart devices!!
Great sensor to make your home smarter! I have other Aqara products and really like them all. This motion sensor is so incredibly fast to react. I have the Aqara H2 Hub, but I prefer to have my Amazon Echo make the announcements.Setting up the device is quick and easy. The instructions are great and easy to understand. It basically does everything for you. And of course, connecting to an Echo device is so simple.Great product and a good price. I couldn't recommend the Aqara motion sensor enough along with all their products. They seem seamlessly together and more importantly, work great with Echo devices!

Worst battery compartment design I've seen
Bought a couple of these to use with Home Assistant. One paired and works great so I set it up where I needed it. The other paired fine but only triggered once and then seemingly just stopped working so I decided to see if I could pull the batteries out and restart the device. Well to get the batteries out you have to remove the bottom cover and then (in tiny print) it tells you to level a specific spot to pull a little container that houses the batteries out. I tried a small plastic pick, a screw driver, a pocket knife, nothing was working so I applied a little more force and the plastic battery tray started to crack. After a little more convincing the tray came out but now it's broken and the plastic on the bottom of the sensor is misshapen. Why in the world would you not just make the bottom screw on our at least make the battery tray rotate to lock into place? Having to pry it out and ultimately break the thing is ridiculous. I did manage to get it back together and the status light came on, it showed triggered once again turning on my lights and hasn't worked again since, so the whole battery struggle was for nothing and now I'm stuck with a broken sensor that I'm guessing I can't retrun...

So far, so good
Purchased this motion detector for use with HomeKit and Hue lights. So far the sensor has worked great with quick response time, and prompt HomeKit integration.

Short Battery Life
I love how compact this device is, and it works really well. The motion detection is impressive too. However, the battery life is disappointing. Despite being advertised with a 5-year lifespan, ours only lasted less than 3 months.
