Good for seasonal apple cider
Assembly is easy enough using the instructions, following drawings, no text. Holes in the stainless steel hopper sides match exactly with the installed rivnuts. The tiny bolts are easy to drop and lose, so pay attention, but all goes together nicely. The unit fits over a 5 gallon plastic pail, but with the hand crank, it moves around a lot, and would benefit from being bolted to a stand, I suppose. I found that it worked fine over the bucket when powered by a cordless 1/2" drill. Apples cut in half work best, but whole apples up to about 3" ground up nicely too. The cutter teeth are of a delrin looking material and held up with no issues processing about 30 gallons of ground apples. Overall this worked well for apples ground for the press. Included is a notched wood brace to stabilize the hopper sides by snapping over the sides on top. If using a motor, some type of cover or lid will keep the bits from flying.

Very well built
We crushed apples, 8 bushels or so enough to make about 16 gallons of cider, give or take. Like other users, I removed the handle used a drill. 1/2 inch worked for me. No problems whatsoever. It worked exactly as anticipated. If your holes don’t line up during assembly, you’re probably putting it together wrong and if they are off a millimeter or two, use a punch to line them up. Yes, the nuts are tack welded so if you happen to snap one of the tack welds, like I did, the nut and the screw still go together, so I’m not sure what that complaint is. We used a 35 gallon tote to capture the mash but I do think a trashcan would work better. For the price it really is amazing little unit that cleans up very easily with a hose and then just make sure you have some food grade lube for storage.Get the kids out, have some fun, make some juice and watch the bees.

Lots of work
This arrived in 2 days after ordering which was great and perfect timing. Easy to put together. I think this works great for grinding up apples but it takes a lot of effort and I do mean back breaking bending over turning apples effort. I do have to make something that will hold it down for stability. I have tons of bruises on my arm and leg from having to hold this contraption down over a bucket where the apple mush falls into. I don’t want to talk bad about this device because it really does works great and gets the job done for a reasonable price. In the end my apple cider turned out great and very pleased

👍
Works very well. Put the apples through twice to extract the most juice. Turns easily and easy to clean. We attached a battery powered drill, running on low and we breezed through a bushel of apples very quickly

Put it on a stand!
First used it just balanced over a five gallon bucket. Not very stable. Made a stand from two saw horses I got for $30 at Home Depot. Balanced it on two 2"X4" wood cross bars and clamped them down with C-clamps. So much easier! The crusher was awesome! Cut the apples in halves and the blades chewed right through them. My neighbor who was helping me, was so impressed, she is going to buy one also! We ground through about 10 bushels of large apples with no problem. I would highly recommend this grinder.

Cider press and fruit crusher.
Excellent product. Remarkably well engineered. Came as a kit to assemble which was very easy. Parts are of grade A materials and well manufactured for ease of assembly. Had great results with first set up and use. Both the fruit crusher and cider press worked perfectly. I would highly recommend this product to anyone interested in making their own cider for personal consumption. Its a hobbiest item, but does the job. A+

Tricky little screws at assembly but works good
This is a nice mechanical grinder. Only complaint was the teeny tiny screws to put it together and no extras in the packet. And some of the washers were glued on backwards. But overlooking that it is good quality. Delivery was prompt. Helped make cider a breeze.

This thing is a joke. A toy. Epic fail.
Absolutely worthless for anything other than maybe a few grapes. Bought this based on the 5 stars here. Can't believe anyone actually used it for more than a novelty. Apples? Carrots? No way.First off assembly. The edges on the stainless steel are wicked sharp. There is a warning on the box to use gloves. Yeah right! The little itty bitty screws are hard enough to set in the first place. There is NO way any one could ever assemble this with gloves on. Had to take sandpaper to the edges just to make carrying it safe. Then there's the gearing and blade assembly. Plastic. No way it will hold up. Cheap cheap cheap.Got this to make cider as our orchard has many apples this year. I ran one 5 gallon pail of apples through this thing. Royal pain in the butt. Didn't matter whether they were cut up, with or without the cores. Almost impossible to grind it's way through. The thing is so light weight that it required a lot of downward force to hold it in place. It won't just sit on top of a press or bucket without a LOT of downward force or some sort of screw down mounting. The handle is incredibly poor design. Held in place by 1 very small soft metal screw that doesn't even go all the way through to hold it. So much force is needed in order to turn the handle and grind up the apples that after one bucket that screw is stripped and worthless. I will have to mod it by drilling it out and installing a longer screw all the way through. Although the rest of it is so worthless I doubt I'll bother. Also the size of the pieces that you do end up with are so big that they only give up / produce a fraction of the juice in the press that they should. We ended up using a stainless electric meat / sausage grinder for the rest of our apples and the quantity of cider out of the press is literally 3 times as much. And with so much stuff nowadays there's really no way to take it all apart and put it back into the box it came in so now I'm left with a 147 dollar paperweight.Just junk. Really annoying. Save your money and look elsewhere.
