Easy read, yet really interesting story
I am somewhere towards the upper end of level A2, starting to break into B1 (I think). This book was easy to read - in a good way. The story is interesting as an adult (murder and young love), yet the grammar is simple. The kind of book that made me feel like I almost completely speak the language despite being upper lever beginner/lower level intermediate. My one complaint would be that it is short - shorter than yo would think. It has the chapters repeated in English after the Spanish version - a nice tool if/when you need it. But that means the book is half as long as it seems by looking at it. But if the only complaint about a book is that it isn't long enough, its also a testament to the fact that its a good story.

Useful additional resource if you are studying Spanish with Duolingo
If you are studying Spanish with Duolingo, I think these books are good to start using around the beginning of Section 4. At least for me, I had enough vocabulary and grammar knowledge at that point to understand the stories without needing to look up words or grammar constantly. I liked that new vocabulary was listed at the beginning of each chapter, so you knew what to expect. You follow the same characters throughout the three books, so that helps keep the focus more on learning new vocabulary and less on figuring out who the characters are. The chapters are short, and the books are small, so you see that you are making progress even after completing just a few chapters. I bought the books separately, but it looks like you can purchase them combined into one book now.

A real page turner - so much fun!
I am an older learner, who has been studying Spanish for about a year, and I loved “La Bailadora Asesina” and its sequel, “La Estrella del Flamenco.” It was so much fun to discover these books that are a quirky combination of romantic comedies and murder mysteries. For me, they were really page turners. With the help of the vocabulary lists at the beginning of each chapter, I was able to read the stories with only occasional vocabulary stops, and there were moments that made me laugh out loud, even though I was reading in a foreign language. I highly recommend these books – they made me feel like I was reading for pleasure instead of studying. I hope the third installment of the trilogy comes out soon!

Silly fun that keeps you engaged
The story is silly and over the top, but it makes you smile and once you start to get some of it without having to look up every word, it is engaging. Definitely approachable reading that I recommend.

Great for Spanish language study!
This book is amazingly comprised of an easy-to-follow story, the introduction of new vocabulary words as you go, and review questions to ensure accurate comprehension. It all happens simultaneously as you 'read.' Just read. It is a super useful tool in learning and practicing the Spanish language. I recommend it!

love!!!
I am so thankful I found this series as an advanced beginner to lower intermediate Spanish learner! I was able to understand 90% of the stories, learn some new vocabulary, and could not put the book down. Very intriguing story, with details that made me feel as though I was right there.

Good for beginners
I'm getting close to intermediate in spanish, but this was a very nice read, learned a few new words every chapter and it being an interesting read will make me want to go back to learn everything without needing the vocabulary list (included every chapter) :)
