Schmincke Horadam Aquarell Metal Tin with Water Container Half Pan Set of 8

This is lovely little bit of kit. It is tiny but has everything one needs for a plein air session. Paint (there is enough room for putting extra colours in the centre) a water trough and a built in water bottle that holds enough to fill it twice and a good mixing surface. There is a thumb ring for holding it on the base. Just add a few travel brushes, a pen, a pencil and your preferred paper and off you go. Being metal and solidly built it is quite heavy for its size, before one adds the extra weight of water, so I prefer to carry it in bag, but it would easily fit in a pocket if you wished. Do be prepared for the envy of your peers though, as I have yet to meet a painter who did not immediately want one too !

Handy little travel set. You can fit an extra 4 paints down the middle. It is about the size of a cigarette packet so will fit in a pocket easily. Just add a brush and paper and you are set to go. (Handy tip - I use a wrist sweat band as a cloth to dry my brush on) No more fiddling with carrying water, trying to balance water pots or finding somewhere to get set up. The thumb ring and clip on water pot make a handy stable little set that can be used standing up anywhere. The water reservoir holds enough for 2-3 refills so enough for a couple of quick sketches anytime.

The paints themselves are beautiful. I can not praise them enough but the lid of the pallet which is the water cup for painting does not stay on for travel. I have tried to bend the metal for a more snug fit but it will not stay on. I am now using a rubber band to keep in place on Plien air trips. One other thing to mention is that it is a bit on the heavy side. Other than that it is lovely to paint with.

Great item. There is space for four more colours in the middle of the box, so you can customise. Schmincke are wonderful paints and this tiny box fits easily in a pocket.

It's everything I was hoping. Quality was good, size small and it has a nice weight to it so it wont flip closed or fly of in the wind easily.

I've bought other brands for my travel and tried to do quick painting on the go. This is the only one I found really practical, with water tank attached!!! So considerable! I dont like to carry too many tools when I am outside. This is super appropriate for me and also the metal tin material makes it sturdy. Love the quality!!
