I was lead to believe that these would be a thicker sock. I have Thorlo (max cushions ) and they have more padding and thickness. These are ok for hiking with tennis shoes or lightweight hiking maybe. Not what I'd call a heavy weight sock. I love them for walking around the house and out to get the mail!

My son ask at specificity for these for Christmas. Had them on before his feet hit the floor

Socks are nice and cushy, but they stink like cheap fabric softener. I had to take them on a cruise to Antarctica right away, so no time to get the stink out. I use all unscented products because of allergies, so this was just awful.

These were supposed to be maximum cushion they have much less cushion than previous Smartwool socks I have purchased. They are similar to a regular sock but much more expensive, They are not as warm and not as cushioned and I am dissapointed as I walk about 5 miles daily in Hot/Cold weather and keeping my feet warm is very important. Smartwool makes some very good socks this is just not one of them
