PTZ does not work, regardless of DVR
This was purchase to connect to my DVR purely for the PTZ function an as such was not fit for purpose. After following instructions on how to connect the camera, I found the picture quality a bit low quality. However the main reason for getting the camera PTZ did not work which was a disappointment and it had to be returned.

â â Everything about it.
The media could not be loaded. After testing 2 of these and them both being faulty hereâs everything I found.Starting off, itâs not a zoom camera for the copy & paste âVine Reviewersâ saying it has good (Zoom). â it doesnât. it is (Digital Zoom) as mentioned in the title, NOT Real (Optical Zoom). Optical Zoom uses the lens to physically magnify the image while keeping the resolution and sharpness of the picture high. While (Digital Zoom) enlarges the image electronically by cropping and enlarging the central part of the photograph which due to this the image quality is reduced in comparison with the original image. This is already a feature that you can do on 99.9% of Digital Video Recorders (DVR) or the apps they use and itâs not great, not unless itâs a expensive 4K camera where you can afford to lose some of the quality while gaining a closer shot. (Optical zoom vs Digital zoom picture to show).â The Video Encoding. This camera uses H264 format with a bitrate range of 32Kbps to 10,240Kbps (bitrate type: Constant or Variable) at 25 FPS (frames per second) at 1080x1920 (1080p) So it will work on Most DVRs. itâs a slim chance but if you find you have no picture/resources, you might have to login to your DVR on the web browser using your DVR IP address then enter your user and password then lower the resolution to 720p or the bitrate/FPS etc or make sure your DVR isnât recording in H264+ or H265. (You also may be able to change all this in your record parameters directly from the DVR by selecting the Camera in there).â The Day Image Quality. The day image quality is a really good picture for its price, itâs not as sharp as they claim but you can identify a person with it from at-least 20ft away and a stationary number plate from 10 - 15ft. There is no choppiness and you can adjust the camera to make it look really smooth, as a indoor security camera or a shop camera or just a day camera, it would do the trick but thatâs about it.(Day image to show).â The night-vision Quality. The 100ft Night-vision is BAD, you can see 100ft with the IR at night but I wouldnât say you can capture âSharpâ images from 100ft away like they claim. Itâs about as Sharp as a bowling ball, youâd be lucky if itâs sharp from 10ft away let alone 100ft. As a still image it looks okay but once you add motion itâs really poor. (Night-vision image to show).I tested 1 of these at night and thought it was because itâs faulty since some other features didnât work and day colours was off. I got a replacement and it turned out that itâs just terrible.â The Minimum Quality â1080Nâ (DVR).Though the camera will function on a 1080N (DVR) like the seller mentioned.I wouldnât recommend it since you will be operating the camera at 1mp (megapixel) rather than its full resolution of 2mp. Youâd be better off using a (DVR) with a minimum quality of 1080p (2mp). (1080N vs 1080p picture to show).â The Pan/Tilt.Itâs great that you donât need 2 extra RS485 cables to run it because itâs direct through coaxial, which is hard to find on a lower price camera. The horizontal pan and a vertical tilt is smooth âwhen it worksâ after trying 2 of these, the first 1 wouldnât tilt at all (video to show) and the replacement will tilt but wonât fully pan to the right, it goes all the way to the left and gets stuck if you go too far but only goes 70% to the right and the camera seems loose in the housing like it could fall out.Sadly it also wouldnât allow me to set/use presets from my Hik⌠DVR. (Pan/tilt video to show). The PTZ Parameter Settings for this camera should be:Baud Rate 9600Data bit 8Stop bit 1Parity NoneFlow Ctrl NonePTZ Protocol UTC (Coaxitron)Address 0â The 3.6mm Lens. The 3.6mm lens gives you a good amount of coverage while being slightly more zoomed than the popular choice of a 2.8mm fixed lens which probably works better since you have the ability to pan/tilt so the lens gives you a slightly closer shot in areas you would have seen with a 2.8mm Lens since this has a smaller viewing angle.â The Cables Quality. The length is great, The power cable and Power supply are perfect. The BNC cable I was surprised about, I thought it would be poor but after testing it with a multimeter, it came back as a 75ohm cable with a reading of 81.4ohms, Which is recommended.â The Camera Build Quality. The build is cheap. The camera is a lot smaller than your typical PTZ which is nice, not much bigger than a regular dome camera but it feels like it could break really easy. The camera feels like it might drop out of the housing on the 2 I received like something is broken inside. itâs IP65, I personally would have preferred it to be IP66 or 67 and being plastic it would last longer made of metal.â The Bracket. The bracket isnât the best. Itâs just a clip on bracket, itâs easy to install and it does the job but it would have been a lot better if it had a pin or screw to make it abit more secure.â The remote accessDepending on which DVR you use, you can access the Camera on the DVRs app along side all of your other cameraâs to keep a eye via your phone, adjust the ptz, picture and other things.âAudioI wasnât able to get it to work via AOC (Audio Over Coaxial) my only guess is that itâs not supported on this camera or thereâs no audio. (Or maybe a problem on my end).âď¸ Tips:(1). If you find the camera has a problem with colours even after you reset the camera to default and black seems to look purple/blue, either the BNC cable needs changing or the Camera is faulty. (Happened to the first camera I tested).(2). If you goto the PTZ menu on your DVR, click the Iris button or the menu button or sometimes the centre blue button, you will gain access to the cameraâs hidden OSD menu that is built into the camera for improving picture quality etc, everything from Exposure, Day & Night, Auto shutter speed, de-noise, the prevent exposure setting which is turned off by default and much more, you can also change your cameraâs mode from XVI to either TVI, CVI or CVBS depending on what you want. Just use your arrows to navigate the menu, the same button to open the menu to select stuff and make sure to goto Save & Exit once youâre happy with your adjustments, if youâre just testing stuff and donât want it to save it then you can also exit without saving.â Overall, its day image is 10x better than any Wi-Fi IP PTZ camera in its price range, having tested a lot of them and finding a lot of problems with them. The night vision is just like them though (poor) it really lets the camera down and the build would be okay if the Pan/Tilt wasnât faulty on the 2 Iâve tried. Iâm not trying another. Good luck.(Iâm positive that this is the same camera as the Annke APT200 which is also a similar price on here.)I might test that to see if itâs any better.I Wouldnât Recommend this security camera. âď¸âď¸âď¸ and thatâs being nice.

Quality of camera is brill.
The PT cameraâs work perfect. Normally you need an 2-core cable to control the pan &tilt function (RS486) but with these you donât. The signal for PT function is sent down the video lead with the video picture so you can use just four core cables. It also means that if you have a standard camera with no PT function you can install one of these. That said, one of the cables sent with my kit is actually faulty which is a bit of a shame. Would have given 5-stars but for that.

Rotate and tilt stopped working 2 weeks after installation.
Quick and easy installation setup was a little tricky as the app wouldn't work. Once installed the camera was OK not as described the picture is good quality upto about 15/20 metres. After 2 weeks the camera wouldn't operate rotation and pan stopped and now its locked in a position I don't want it in. Hopefully it's just a dodgy camera and not the batch.
