Perfect for elderly
Bought this for an elderly grandparent who had been through several phones and either couldn’t hear them when they rang or couldn’t work them properly because there were too many buttons to press to compete simple procedures like making a phone call. This is perfect, it’s easy to use, the buttons are big it’s and really loud. We’re 3 months in and have had no problems so far. Definitely recommend for older people who need a basic phone that just calls and texts.

Simple and easy phone
Purchased this for my 92 year old Mum. She had an earlier model which had failed after many years of use. Perfect for her, big buttons, simple functions and the battery lasts well. All works very well

Good Senior Phone
Purchased for my 90 year old sister for emergencies only. However seems a good little phone with lots of features, it lost a star because very difficult to get into to insert sim and battery. Having said that it is easier once it has been opened. Certainly good value for money.

A brick on arrival. Amazon really should do something about this common problem.
I bought the Doro 1380 for my elderly mum. Unfortunately (and like several others on here) the phone was dead on arrival for me. The battery does not to take a charge and there is no way to turn the phone on. Based on the number of similar cases I think Amazon really should look into this. As others have said, if there is a bad batch of these in circulation they should be recalled/removed from sale.It seems a shame as I think the phone would have been ideal for my mum - nice size and good clear buttons. I think she would have struggled with the usb micro charging port as it doesn't have a confident feel when connecting it.So - I am returning the Doro for a refund and will be looking for a similar phone - ideally with a charging dock and from a different manufacturer.

Could be better
The Doro Leva L10 could be better. It's a phone that seems to have forgotten Seniors. We used to have the Doro 1370 that was 2G which wasn't a bad phone and had to buy a new phone for the 3G switch off so went for this phone.A good phone with excellent 4G sound quality, but for my elderly mother texting on this phone is difficult compared to the Doro 1370 which was much easier for her. When texting you have to enter the number first on the same screen in a tiny box at the top and then enter the text afterwards in a box at the bottom of the same screen. Why Doro have made it this way I don't know because it is actually quite difficult, especially for Seniors texting. Having been used to entering the text first then the number on a separate screen afterwards, which was easier, she is finding it difficult texting this way. Also, this way, one accidental press on the OK button whilst texting and the message is gone before you are ready! Doro haven't taken into account Seniors with this phone at all! If you jump to the message writing box first, you can't get back up to the 'Number' box at the top without constantly pressing the Up arrow to get back up there. Not good for Seniors which this phone is supposed to be for. Also words have been replaced by symbols. Seniors will find it a difficult learning curve. When you bring up the symbols table when texting you can't quickly jump down the rows! You have to keep pressing the down arrow and it wears out the down arrow button by the time you get the bottom of the table! Also, and this is the BIGGY! and Doro loses a star for this - there is no move or copy options in the File Manager that allows me to move photos into a folder to the memory card. They've been forgotten! When I take a photo I can't move or copy it anywhere, despite there being a memory card slot for SD cards available. The move and copy options in Options are missing! This makes adding folders pointless! I can't do much with them at the moment! The phone receives updates - (it is early days so I've yet to receive one) - but I'm hoping Doro will restore these missing options to the phone! The Doro Leva L10 is a fraction larger compared to the Doro 1370, and this has also caused us problems for us. Having had the Doro 1370, it meant we had to buy new phone cases which are much bigger XXL size. They are over big for this type of phone. That was a shame because our Doro cases for the Doro 1370 were XL and slightly smaller and had Doro not made the phone larger could have fitted them. Why Doro have made the Leva L10 larger than the Doro 1370 which was a perfect size I don't know. You may have some difficulty getting used to this phone. It's full of niggles, that Seniors or anybody of any age, shouldn't really have to struggle with. The excellent 4G sound quality is very good and that is the phones saviour. But everything else could be better. Doro could rectify all this with an update. If they don't then that's a shame.A good phone, but be prepared for a few 'oh I wish it wouldn't do that' moments.

Excellent phone
I bought this for my elderly grandmother. She had never really used mobiles before. We got her a few over the past few years that she tried to use but couldn’t get used to them and they got stuck in a drawer. This one though, she got used to within a few days. She loves it. As someone who still uses the landline with no caller display and no digital phone book, she still gets excited that she doesn’t have to get out her address book and look up numbers, because now they’re in her mobile. It’s a great quality device, and it also gives us peace of mind as a family because she is in her 90s now so having a mobile that she can keep on her to ring someone in an emergency rather than struggling to reach the landline is comforting to us , and we’ve setup the emergency button on it too, which sends a few of our family members an instant text saying the emergency button was pressed, and then it automatically round-robin calls us while putting her mobile on loudspeaker so we can speak directly to her in an emergency. Excellent value for money . I can’t speak so much for the features, it’s a pretty simple device, but the emergency button feature is great (although I would say that it’s a bit difficult to configure that button, for a device that’s targeted to the elderly). It’s a good size phone, with good sized buttons and text on the display, and the battery lasts a solid few days.
