Carbolic Household Soap 450g (1lb)

A BIG block of soap that will last for ages with that distinctive carbolic smell that reminds me of my grandparents kitchen and bathroom. It does a multitude of jobs, can be grated and diluted to make a gloopy liquid soap for floors and other surfaces.It comes in a cardboard package that can be recycled, too. No unnecessary plastic!

Good old fashioned soap.

I grated it and added warm water to dissolve it. Then I added it to cooler water(totaling 25 litres for one bar). I left it for 24 hours then decanted it into containers. It's gooey and gel like. I add it to my washing machine when washing boiled items to disenfect them - can be a bit smelly but I use comfort and line dry. I also use it to scrub my bathroom/floors. My 25 litres will last me years!

I remember in the early 50s no washing machine and mum using carbolic soap to launder our dirty clothes. Then 1962 as a RAF cook we use to place a bar of soap into an empty perforated tin can. Then using boiling water from kitchen boiler use to fill the mop bucket. Use to remove all the grease from the kitchen floors. Give it a rinse, squeezy off and mop excellent none slip surface!

We now buy no other Carbolic soap but these ones as we can get them in bulk. They are perfect sized blocks that lasts quite a while. They smell just as expected and are ALWAYS the same quality every time i order more. Only downside is they break up if you try to cut them so would be great if you could get them cut into however many pieces wanted before they are sent out but for now we have to either keep it a whole block or cut it up and get pieces that has flaked away. Regardless i would recommend these to others and as usual would continue to get my bulks :)

Arrived early - good - but nothing like good carbolic soap we all know is a deep red with that distinct smell. This bar is Pink and NO smell. I cut it open to see Nope deffinitely no smell or texture like real carbolic soap so things won't be feeling clean and fresh from use l take it. Very Disappointed.. My older bar is deffinitly a deep red as amazon's picture not pink. So manufactures have done something to our favourite soap like other older products that no longer work the same 😭😭

Good old fashioned 'no frills' soap. Cut this block into fingers or bars for a multitude of uses from the potting shed to the utility room. The aroma reminds us all of times gone by.
