Rothko: Every Picture Tells a Story (Foundation Louis Vuitton)

This has to be one of the best catalogs of a Rothko exhibitions. The photos are so amazing, you can see the brushstrokes and the colour layers underneath. There are more early paintings than you've seen before, several essays, photos of Rothko with his paintings and of his life and a several pages Chronology with photos of the Rothko rooms and projects around the world & letters. If you missed the exhibition (as I did), you must at least get this wonderful catalog.

I visited the wonderful Rothko exhibition in Paris at the Louis Vuitton Gallery, unfortunately the English version of the Catalogue was sold out. On my return it was great to find it on Amazon at £20 less and I didn't have to carry it back from Paris !!

The book is of high quality with great pictures and interestin essays

Excellent catalog from a recent retrospective show in Paris. Many never seen before Rothko's on display. Probably the most extensive show of his work ever produced.The only odd thing about the catalog is the cover which has a partially display slip cover that comes off very easily and will most certainly get damaged over time if you are not careful handling it.

Wenn man mit Rothko etwas anfangen kann, dann braucht man dieses Buch und ich war froh, dass ich es nicht selbst von Paris nach Hause schleppen musste, sondern Amazon es freundlicherweise liefert.
