Chris Stein / Negative: Me, Blondie, and the Advent of Punk

Really great & lots of rare photos I'd not seen before
As the owner of plenty of photo books on Blondie (including Stein's earlier book 'Making Tracks'), I was a bit worried that I would have seen most of the photos in this book before. However, I was really pleasantly surprised. Not only was the majority of the book new to me, but Steins extensive captions for the photos more than made this book worth getting. Anyone with an interest in Blondie, the New York punk scene of the 70s, or just goddam cool photography will love this book

Most of these photos have been published before, in 'Making Tracks: The Rise Of Blondie' but there are some previously unseen ones and it's well worth having this book (even if you already have 'Making Tracks' as there are new anecdotes from Chris Stein and the photos themselves are all so evocative of a time in New York that no longer exists.

Super photos through the lens of mr. Stein
As a fan of blondie it was ( always is) great finding new pics of Debbie especially but Chris has one particular photo of an 1970s NY even reading it you can almost visualise the flow of that time , one pic of DH with Nancy spungen , gifted photographer so pleased with it!

What a photographer! What a subject! My boyfriend and I so enjoyed the exhibition, this is a great reminder. If only I could own a full size print of Blondie setting fire to her kitchen in a ball gown. *Sigh*.Just love that image.

Very pleased to have found this book at a reasonable price in comparison to where I have seen it in some shops. Arrived before stated due date, was a birthday present which my brother absolutely loved. Would recommend for any serious Blondie fans.

If you're a middle aged punk, buy this and dream of the past.
Sums the period up brilliantly and made me really quite wistful.
