I wear a very high-end cowboy hat and was concerned that this was misshape or leave marks on it over time. Not the case at all! This fits a standard cowboy hat very well and keeps it from being jostled around in the cab. Very sturdy, very nice product. Well done.

Update #2: Subsequently, the seller offered to send me their new design for flatter-brimmed, non-cowboy style hats. I tried it, and it works like a charm. It's just pretty close to perfect.I liked it so much, I bought another one for our other car. These folks have great customer service, and a great product. If you have a hat that you want keep easily available in your car, and still off the seat or the floor, this is the real deal. Again, good customer service.Seller DID NOT ask me to change my review; I am doing this voluntarily to note their fast and responsive customer service.Original review: The idea for this hat rack is a good one, and the materials & construction are good. It installs easily. The problem is that it doesn't work. Drop the hat in and it looks fine, until you start moving your car forward or hit a bump: then, the hat flips over backwards and lands on the floor or the back seat. This happens with Panama hats, felt fedoras and other medium brim hats. If you have a high crown, extremely wide curved brim hat, it _might_ work, but not for any hat I tried.Maybe if the arms were not so long, so the hat's brim would rest against the seat back, it might work better. That would make it take up less back seat space, too. As it is, it just doesn't work for me.It's a shame, because as I said, it's a nice idea, and well made.

It is simple and fine in design. However, in function, my suede hats appear not to have the stiffness to stay on the holder.

Gave this to my husband as a Xmas gift. It is now April and still looks brand new. Good and firm quality

Been using this for the past year and it's amazing! Easy to install. Ive removed and installed it many times! It's sturdy and keeps hats safe and retains their shape!

This is a must have. I hated my hard hat just sliding around in my truck. This allows me to hand it up and the hook is large enough I handy my safety glasses, earplugs, headlamp, and safety vest from the hook. It has never dropped my hard hat and I travel some ruff roads. I’m gonna order another one for my other seat to hold by computer bag.

I own 2 of these and really like keeping my hats off the seat. I used this rack for a while but noticed it was leaving a mark on my very expensive custom felt hat where the crown sits on the wire. This wouldn’t effect a straw hat and probably wouldn’t be noticeable on a dark or black felt hat but it is noticeable on silver belly.Solution: I put 2 pieces of felt together (sticky on one side) to keep the crown off the wire. It gives the hat some stability while in the rack and keep it from getting scars. I do recommend this rack but just know the potential issue before having a mark on your thousand dollar custom hat. I wanted to give the rack 4 stars but it will damage your hat. So until a solution is made to fix it I had to give it 3.
