Birch & Meadow Steel Cut Oats, 3 lb, Whole Grain, Irish Oat Meal, Breakfast

This cooks up nicely in my rice cooker. The taste and texture are great. We set it to go the night before and wake up to steel cut goodness. It was super fresh. And I can almost feel it sucking up the cholesterol in my system after I eat it. My recommendation for toppings: low sugar dried cranberries, a teaspoon of butter, a pinch of salt and maple sugar. Yummo.

I was surprised at how easy these were to make as I usually use quick oats. I also like how they were just as good the next day so you can make them ahead of time. It's very easy to customize with whatever mix-ins you prefer as they are an excellent neutral base. Good quality and good price for the amount.

The oats are good steel cut oats. No problems. The bucket does a good job of protecting them in transit. It's tough plastic. It's hard to open, though and despite buying this twice, I've not yet managed to open it in a way that allows it to be resealed. This is not a problem for me as I want to decant the oats into a different container. But if you wanted to use the supplied bucket as your storage you might have a problem.

These are delicious! I like that they are a bit chewy. Also like that it comes in clear container
