Keeps bits safe
We don’t use this for soldering, but we do use it for dismantling and repairing things, the pocket sections hold all of your small cogs, screws etc safely, you can even place them easily in the order they were removed making re assembly easier. The spongy quality of the silicon enables tiny components to be picked up easily as they don’t skither about. Easily stored and not easily damaged .

Good for electrical projects
I got this so that I could upgrade a battery in a laptop and it is great for keeping screws organised and in their place.

great bit of kit, really pleased
simple solution to an aged old problem. Forever needing to solder things on location and away from my workbench. This is simple to roll up and carry with me in my toolbox resulting in a protected working environment wherever i am.

A fantastic 'blue' mat
I go through quite a few 'blue mats'. This one in particular has been very durable. It's had countless items soldered on it and even the heat gun at 400c very close to it with no bubbling or warping. This mat has a handy numbered area that's great for keeping track of screw placements etc.A really good mat overall that I can recommend.

It's not anti static so not safe for electronics use.
This mat is great for many applications, but I would not use it for electronics as it's not ESD safe. In fact, taking it out of the plastic package you could hear the static, and when I left it sitting on my bench anti-static mat for 30 mins, it still managed to hold a huge static charge. In all other respects this is a lovely mat, though the magnet is on the weak side, but this will end up frying static sensitive electronics if you aren't carful.
