I considered over a dozen backpacks, making a spreadsheet of comparisons of price, availability, features, dimensions, and more. After months of trial and error, I finally settled on the Knack Medium Expandable Backpack, and I couldn't be happier! It's comfort, has great interior space that EXPANDS, is built really well, and I love the color. It's a high quality backpack, and definitely worth the price. I strongly recommend this backpack!

I've had many backpacks over the years and this one is my favorite. Key things I really like:1. Expands so I can utilize the non-bulky slim mode for daily use and if I need to carry more things, increase the volume.2. Well made: sound quality and looks good3. Comes in colors other than black4. Well thought out design with easy access to pockets and numerous sections and pockets well suited for what they are to hold.

I usually don’t bother leaving reviews, but after spending countless hours researching and watching dozens of EDC and travel backpack videos, I’ve finally found the perfect bag. I love that it’s expandable, not just by a little, but by 10L, which means it works as my ideal EDC backpack while easily transforming into a travel backpack whenever I need it. That versatility is exactly what I was looking for.On top of that, it looks stylish and super cute. The size seems perfect for carrying clothes for a 2-3 day trip, but if you're planning a longer trip or need more space, the medium size might be a better choice.I’m writing this review because I’m genuinely so happy to have found the perfect backpack. I truly believe this was a perfect purchase, worth every single penny. No regrets at all!😊

I really wanted to love this backpack. The form factor is fantastic, and it's very lightweight. The expandable nature of the bag is a big draw.Two main issues:First, the series 1 still has the side-load laptop pocket in the back. (The series 2 small is top-loading). The pocket itself is larger than the zipper, which is frustrating because the backpack should be able to fit a 14" macbook. Alas, because the zipper opening is too small, it does not.Second, the front triangular flap is awkward to use. The organization behind the flap is fantastic, but the flap is not something you can operate one-handed as each "side" of the flap has a separate zipper you need to navigate. This is also something that has changed in the new series 2 design.Having said that, the backpack itself is very well made. The zippers all operate smoothly and seem more sturdy than the ones that Nomadic uses (in case you were thinking about a Nomadic bag).

I returned this. But not because I didn’t like it. I actually loved it and had a lot of regret for returning it I think in the end I should’ve kept it. It’s really well designed, and the quality of the manufacturing is very good. It’s very clever the way they constructed the different spaces to keep things separate.. definitely recommend

Great backpack with good organization. Can carry as an informal briefcase or backpack with hideaway straps or a shoulder bag. Good quality.Met all my criteria EXCEPT size. This is very small - probably only good for a day trip. I returned it and ordered the Medium from Knack website as the Series 2 was not available on Amazon

After my Coach tote finally wore out, I decided to make the switch to a backpack for work. I wanted a bag that could carry my stuff to the office and that I could also use for a quick overnight trip. My friend told me to check out Knack and after researching all their bags, I thought the Small Knack looked perfect (I am 5'4" and slight build). Unfortunately, when I got my new Knack, I was heartbroken when I didn't see any backpack straps. After poking around the bag, I'm embarrassed to say that I found the straps tucked away in a zipped closed back pocket ( I guess the straps can be tucked away so you can use as a briefcase?). Problem solved! I've since been using my new Knack everyday. The bag's organization, quality and capacity are great and it is just the right size for me. I am so happy with my decision!

This backpack was GREAT on my travels when I had to carry my laptop and camera equipment. The straps make it easy on my back when walking through airports. Also works nicely for weekend work trips, doing double duty as a laptop bag and suitcase. The materials are durable and easy to clean, and the zippers are good quality. A great purchase!
