Works great! Followed instructions and got the setup connected in initial attempt without hiccups.While I enjoy watering my plants (and I believe it also gives you the opportunity to observe and find any pests and issues), it becomes a challenge if you're not home or have the time to do that when needed. With summer heat it becomes a bigger issue, if you miss a watering cycle. Towards that I started exploring smart devices for irrigation of my garden, and got this to add another timer to my setup.Features• Control your hose timer remotely - managing watering schedule via App (RainPoint Smart+); also works with Alexa & Google Assistant• 2 zones; 6 watering plans, per zone• 2 irrigation modes + manual mode optionPros• Easy setup; Good connectivity;• Brass inlet (vs. plastic, with other models)• Spare filter & rubber washers included is a nice touch; along with Teflon tape• Excellent customer support; very responsive (to my questions regarding app compatibility, noted below)• 5-year warranty (need to register)Cons (that could be possibly improved)• If you have other RainPoint devices already, you may have to use more than 1 app. Timer works only with RainPoint Smart+ app. I had previously setup other RainPoint devices, which required HomGar app (Timer HTV213FRF, Display Hub - HIS019WRF, Soil Moisture Meter - HCS021FRF, Water Flow Meter - HCS008FRF & Rain Gauge - HCS012ARF). Now I need to have two apps to manage my irrigation setup - RainPoint Smart+ app vs. HomGar app (though all are RainPoint devices, the apps are not compatible, per customer support).• Rain delay requires you to activate it based on weather forecast (app provides local weather forecast, if needed). It would have been better, if weather forecast could be integrated to trigger rain delay or give you an alert notification and option to activate the rain delay);• Weather forecast in the app was different than other sources I monitor (and looks not accurate). Unfortunately, the weather Info screen does not show the location to verify.• Battery not included (requires 4 AA). Not a biggie, but why not include battery at this price?===========Update - Sept 24, 2024:Though the new Timer itself worked great, previously I gave 4 stars only - due to the issue that the Smart+ App was not compatible with other RainPoint devices I already had and I had to use two apps to control my RainPoint devices (see con mentioned above), .I reported this issue to RainPoint support as well.Updated to 5 stars (from 4 stars) for below reasons• RainPoint support notified me that Smart+ App was upgraded for compatibility with other RainPoint devices• I successfully migrated all my RainPoint devices (see list above) to the new Smart+ app, fairly easily, allowing me to now use a single app to manage all my RainPoint devices (eliminating the hassle of using multiple apps).• Also, RainPoint support has been a delight to work with and open to customer feedback (and improvements to the product based on that)

Just installed the RainPoint 2 zone water timer with smart hub. Instructions were easy to follow and timer is working well. It is nicely made and hoses connect much better than on the old splitter I had. The app has some nice features, including the events schedule which shows when watering takes place and rain delays.

The RainPoint WiFi Water Timer is a fantastic addition to my garden. Setup was quick, and connecting it to WiFi was seamless. The dual-zone control is a game-changer, letting me set up to six customized watering schedules per zone. I love the remote control via the RainPoint Home App, which allows me to manage everything from anywhere and even track watering history.The three watering modes (normal, interval, and cycle & soak) provide excellent flexibility, and the seasonal adjustment feature saves time by automatically adjusting watering duration. Integration with Alexa and Google Assistant makes hands-free operation effortless.I also appreciate the weather-based smart scheduling, which optimizes watering based on conditions, and the option to expand the system with additional timers. Based on other reviews, it’s great to see that the new app is now compatible with previous RainPoint products, and I look forward to integrating them into my system.Overall, this is a well-designed, smart irrigation solution that makes watering efficient and hassle-free. Highly recommend!

I have had a previous RainPoint model (TWG009BW) that I was very happy with. My new 2-zone model offers me more flexibility. While my main garden is in the front yard, I do have watering needs in the backyard (lawn and flower beds). They don't require as much or as frequent watering, so it's nice to be able set them on a different schedule. Another feature I love about this new model is that I can easily and quickly turn on the hose for supplemental waterings or doing such things as washing my car. I can set it automatically shut off after a certain amount of time — just in case I forget to turn it off manually.For programmed watering, I prefer to water before dawn, before neighbors are walking their dogs and kids are walking to school, and while it is most efficient, rather than waiting until I'm awake, the sun is up, and evaporation is a problem.Setup is simple. I had it working in under 3 minutes. The app is fairly easy to navigate, but it does add a few functions that the older model didn't have that required a little more time to play around to get used to, but after a short while, I think I've mastered all of the functions I'll use regularly, as well as have good familiarity with functions that i may use only occasionally. The flexibility to adapt configurations to future watering needs is welcomed!Pros:• Quick and easy to set up, especially if you already have numerous WiFi enabled devices. It's essentially the same as setting up light bulbs, smart speakers, etc.• Versatility: features 6 different watering options and 2 watering zones• Obviously its biggest advantage is programming it to water regularly, but it can be easily used for manual operation without turning off programs• Rain delay: skip a programmed watering when rain is expected or it has recently rained (I don't use the app's weather forecast, but rather my regular weather sources to predict rain)• Alexa integration• Remote operation for when I'm traveling or away from home• Watering history for both zonesCons:• Although I didn't have any difficulty, if you haven't set up a smart device previously, it potentially could be confusing to set up this (and most other smart devices) if you have a single WiFi network. Most devices require 2.4 GHz networks to operate, which means some reconfiguration of your network during setup. Once you've navigated the setup, you don't need to worry. I can't post instructions because they depend on your provider and router.• The unit is large! It is a little awkward on my house because of where the spigot is located and how it is attached, but I may consider installing a short hose fashioned from an old hose, and then placing the unit on the ground.Overall, this timer is excellent and I look forward to using it throughout the growing season. I may amend my review with additional thoughts and/or tips as it gets more use.
