The Necronomicon Mass Market Paperback – March 1, 1980

This book has a lot of actual history. Very interesting stuff. I like that it goes into depth to attempt translation of all the words associated with the spells and commands. Interesting book and if you buy into it then also a very powerful book. Very well put together. Great read.

Its great quality for paper back, looks amazing and is durable. However this is a serious book, if you're a beginner please use this as research and be careful if you decide to do these workings.

A lot of reviews on here go nuts about this being a 'hoax' or 'fiction' as opposed to the 'real' Necronomicon, and that this is a 'fake'.Anyone who's actually read the book and has half a brain could tell you this stuff just isn't so. Since its source material is radically different from that which is described in the works of Lovecraft, if it's a straight hoax, it's not really fooling anyone, and is very poorly done. Calling it fiction has the same problem, in that the meat of the book is a manual of magical operations, and there's not really a lot of room for straight fiction in that. Certain sections might be fictional, but have minimal bearing on the directions in the book. As for fake, it's a book and it's called the Necronomicon, so in that regard, it's a real Necronomicon, though as I said before, clearly not as Lovecraft's was.Too many reviewers also ignore that none of it matters. Any book of this kind, all that matters is the results. In my personal experience, using this book, what I wanted to happen, happened. In no instance where I followed the directions and did everything properly did the Necronomicon disappoint me. In that regard, this Necronomicon is just as real as you please.If you're just looking for a Lovecraft fix or trying to act like the smartest person in the room by picking this thing apart any way you can, I suggest saving your money. If you're interested in a grimoire that can deliver what the text promises, it's definitely a worthy purchase.

This book, though more theatrical than practical, is a nice read. A little cheesy as a grimoire, but it has a vintage counter-culture charm.If you are a serious practitioner, I would advise against getting this book as it might be jarring and pretentious. If you’re a chaos magickian that likes to have fun with their work, I’d say give it a shot. Hell, even if you don’t do magick at all and just happen to like horror fiction, go ahead and buy it! It’s quite a fun read.

Firstly, I know this is considered a work of fiction but let me assure you that the contents of this book are not a joke. Secondly, the particular current that this Grimoire deals with (current 23 - The Cthonic Current) will obsess You and cause You to lose yourself in its mystical influence. Be aware of your self and watch for the signs of obsession and back away when necessary. Third - You gotta be careful when summoning demons because the way you perform the rituals is basically like dialing a phone number for an entity. So if you perform these incantations carelessly, you will dial a wrong number and end up with something on your hands that you weren't prepared for. I personally don't recommend novices messing with the rituals. Beginners are advised to use this as study material and cross reference with other Grimoires before you dive into actually performing anything detailed in The Necronomincon.

If you are in dire need of an army of undead, a quick way to curse your enemies, or just want some ancient symbols to paint in blood under the carpet, this book is for you! It's never too early to teach your children how to raise hell and terrify the neighbors. Use it to inspire your next Black Mass and let it teach you the wealth of knowledge passed down through Alister Crowley in a coked-out trance.
