These ratchet-style jacks are decent in a pinch but they take a long time to extend fully. I prefer the older OEM style that you hook the lug wrench in and turn. However, what I do like about this jack is how low to the ground it starts out. It makes it more versatile for uneven terrain or as an assisted jack. Despite this, for our car, it just isn't safe with that flat head on top of the scissor jack. Our car has the ridge and placing this jack on either side of the ridge feels very unsafe as it isn't enough room. I think the jack is great and I have owned cars in the past with that designated jack slow welded on the frame. Without it, you end up with 3 tons+ of metal and plastic resting on an angel's hair. As I said, it's a great jack if you have the proper mounting under your car for this.

This gets a 1 star only because there were no "0" stars. Total piece of junk. No way I would try to jack a car up with this. Frame bent trying to lift a storage (heavy) cabinet.

I've seen some cars with a flat and you can't get a shop floor jack under it. This goes down to just 3 inches, lower than many floor jacks to at least get it started coming up again. The ratchet handle included works, yet may not be needed by most where a crank handle is a lot quicker and enough leverage to go up. As some cars aren't coming with a spare tire or jack, it may be worth checking and considering having this along.
