Good, cool product that adds some excitement to a room!
My daughter asked for a "glitter" wall when we were repainting her room. I would love to love to rate this product with 5 stars because it is a very cool product and easy to use. However, we added the entire bag to 1/4 of a gallon of paint, put on 2 coats, and the coverage was not even (tried to capture in the picture). If using this product for a wall, plan to put on more than 2 coats of paint. My biggest concern when purchasing was that the glitter was going to have texture and need sanding to repaint...zero texture and will be able to easily repaint when the time comes. My daughter uses this wall to take selfies and they turn out really neat with the little bit of sparkle.

Excellent Product!
Even with the great reviews, I was skeptical . I mixed one package of the silver holographic glitter in a quarter of a gallon of very dark paint, did two thin coats and buffed with a dark terrycloth towel. My fireplace is now super sparkly and I am trying to figure out what I can paint next. The only difficulty I had was evenly buffing so the glitter is the same throughout.

Works for small project. Can't imagine using it on a larger surface
After trying a glitter spray paint which provided an inconsistent application of glitter, I found this product. The only difference I could find via research from "normal" glitter is that Hemway glitters can be purchased in various sizes of the actual glitter. I'm not convinced this is any better (definitely not cheaper!) than a store-bought craft glitter.I wanted to apply this to a 4 foot by 2 foot desk surface that I was painting white. So my goal was a light glitter appearance that wasn't overwhelming but would show up through the white paint. After reading the product description and a bunch of Amazon reviews, I ended up mixing just over half the glitter with 8 oz of white paint. I poured some of the mixture onto the desktop surface and used a roller to apply. Lesson 1: this was too much glitter as the paint was too thick and didn't spread well. I added more white paint to the existing glitter/paint mixture to dilute the amount of glitter. Once the surface was dry, I poured a second coat and this one applied more like paint - I could spread it easily with a roller. The one picture shows the bumpy surface after the 2nd coat of paint/glitter mixture.Once fully dry, I used a white towel (why spend money on the "buffing pad") and buffed it to reveal the amount of glitter I wanted. My ultimate goal (and the other picture shows the finished product) was to coat the desktop with epoxy resin, which sealed everything in and gives the entire surface a glossy look.In the end, if I were to do this again: don't use as much glitter in the paint. Do a single coat application with a roller. Buff as I did. I tested this approach on another surface and the result is actually better than what I achieved with two coats.Because of all this, on a tiny 8 foot square surface, I can't imagine doing this on anything larger like a wall.

Results are amazing!
I was pretty terrified to try this since there are so many different recommendations for certain results. I wanted to add some sparkle to our girls playroom so I went with a whole package of silver holographic added to 1 gallon of Sherwin Williams Duration base in “Inspired Lilac” (pretty light). We mixed very well with a drill mixer. 2 base coats and then one coat with the glitter added. Already without buffing we had lots of sparkles. Once dried I did a very quick, very light buff with a white sponge and it brought out sooo many more sparkles. I can see hidden sparkles under the paint that if we wanted even more another quick buff would do it but we have plenty! I am so happy with how this turned out. Highly recommend!

Ehh... Local store was better
So my local Menards was out and we used that and had loved the results. It was sparkley and not adding texture. Since they were out I tried this and I was not thrilled. I can still see some sparkle if I look just right at it. But it has a weird texture now and I'm not thrilled

Achtung
