A better battery in this catagory
I have old Makita tools that use this battery. Recently purchased a cheaper battery and did not hold up. These batteries are made better and hold up longer.

but none of the batteries were good any longer
I had a number of old Makita battery powered tools that still work perfectly, but none of the batteries were good any longer. These batteries gave me back access to these tools which would have otherwise gone into the trash!

DO NOT BUY! SERIOUS SAFETY ISSUE!
I purchased these twice. the first pair failed to charge. I returned for a replacement. The second pair, one battery failed to charge and the second shorted internally with smoke curling out of the battery. I even bought their charger with the second set to make sure my charger was working. The charger works fine with my old batteries but the batteries are terrible. Returning the second set. Hope I can find an acceptable replacement to use with my 6095D MAkita cordless drill which I have loved.

New Batteries
I have some older 9.6 volt Makita devices that I didn't want to part with because they just plain-old come in handy. I ordered a pair of Creabest Ni-MH 9000 batteries and I couldn't be happier. The batteries are better quality than the originals, not to mention the better power rating and Ni-MH composition. The fit was top notch in both the device and the charger. So I'm back in business ... Thanks
