Faithful, spectacular Pratchett dramatisations. A Discworld delght.
When I found myself leaping to the radio to listen to the re-run of "Guards !, Guards !" for the fourth or fifth time I finally decided to take the plunge and buy the box set so I could listen to these BBC drama adaptations at leisure. This turned out to be a good decision. The sound quality is superb and exploits stereo to its fullest with great sound effects that really enhance the drama. The adaptations are faithful to the books and the four done by Robin Brooks - "Mort","Eric" "Small Gods" and "Night Watch" are especially good and manage to cope with the difficulty of explaining the Discworld set-up well without using a very long preamble.I especially enjoyed Geoffrey Whitehead's portrayal of Death and the two with Anton Lesser's narration which fitted my vision of Discworld and its denizens perfectly. I've already binged on the whole 15 cd set despite my intentions to spread my listening out over times when I couldn't find music, podcasts or radio programmes that suited my mood. (Listening with headphones is recommended for a great experience. )There seems to be some sort of Marmite thing going on with reviews of this box set which seem to be saying either "Rubbish" or "Marvellous" which I suppose reflects ones own vision of the characters or perhaps prior familiarity with the Discworld. As a self-confessed Pratchett fan I am tremendously sad at losing him but am delighted with this collection which I found marvellous. Since one of the delights of Discworld for me is the joy of constantly finding a reference or joke that I had previously missed I am looking forward to listening to these again and am delighted with my purchase.

The entire radio series of Terry Pratchet
As usual with this author work. While sticking to the storyline each medium of presentation has variations embedded. For ardent fans of his work it is part of the pleasure looking out for these deliberate changes. Excellent value.

Five Star Performances, Five Star Stories- Fantastic.
Seven full-cast dramatisations from the fabulous BBC Radio Drama department is a bargain at half the price. The Terry Pratchett Radio Drama Collection is wonderfully acted, sensibly abridged and a wonderful 'Movie for Your Ears' to quote the late much missed, Frank Zappa. No one does these comedy dramas better than the BBC.You get seven delightful plays. Heck the price is worth it just for the brilliant Guards Guards! And The Night Watch. If you've read the books it's amazing at just how quick you accept and welcome the voices, Carrot becomes Carrot, Same Vimes becomes the voice of the grizzled, seen it all before and survived Captain of the watch. The rest are superbly performed and tight direction moves the action and the comedy (and this is in spades from the wonderful pen and imagination of the beloved Terry Pratchett. This is a fine tribute to the much missed Terry and that is no mean achievement.

Review of Terry Pratchett discworld radio plays
The scripts kept fairly close to the original material. The actors were well suited to their characters. The only thing I disliked was that sometimes the voices were a little bit muffled. Apart from that they were very good. I enjoyed them for their entertainment value. Thanks

Great stories.
I've been looking for audio books and finally found these. I had to transfer them to a memory stick but the quality is excellent.
