7PCs Set 0XA Wedge Type Quick Change Tool Post Set For Mini Lathe up to 9" OXA TOOL POST

This bolted right up to my Harbor Freight 7x10 lathe. The QCTP comes with a riser block attached to the bottom you'll want to remove if you have a 7" lathe, it is not necessary.The kit was exactly as described. Each piece was individually bagged inside of individual carboard boxes inside of a larger box, and was covered in a heavy coat of light machine oil for rust protection.It has a very solidly build and was trivial to install. Just remove your OEM tool post and the stud it screws into. Remove the nut that holds the stud and riser block to the QCTP. Remove the riser block (if it is not needed to get tools to the center of your work). Install the new stud. Put on the QCTP and re-fasten the nut. Screw the handle onto the handle rod, and then screw this assembly into the hole on on the ring at the top of the post.It has not budged from its place and is much more rigid than the OEM tool post. But, most importantly, while the OEM tool post only supports 5/16" tools, this one supports 1/2". Switching to 1/2" tools made an instant and notable improvement in my sound and quality of cuts.I am a very inexperienced machinist, so YMMV on how helpful 1/2" tooling is, but it certainly seems to work a lot better!

This is an all steel tool post set. The finish is all that I could ask for. The lock-up is reasonably smooth. This comes with a cut-off tool holder and for the first time I've been able to part steel on my lathe without chatter. I bought this for a 6" Sears/Atlas lathe and with the exception of the Morse taper holder all the adapters adjust to the Sears/Atlas center height which I had worried about. I had to slightly machine the base plate to match the Sears/Atlas compound T-slot. I'll probably fix the Morse taper adapter by taking 0.20"-0.30" off the top under the height setting nut. This tool post is a good fit for a 6" lathe.

This product works well with my 9X20 Jet Lathe. Good quality, Easy to adapt and fit.Had to make a new, longer post bolt. The only thing I would like to see is a size between the OXA and the 1XA. OXA is a bit small for my compound.

Best tools for the price on Amazon. Work great on Grizzly 0765 metal lathe. Better quality than most I've used.

Quality construction, good finish. Bought one of the aluminium type quick changes before a purchased this one, what a mistake that was. Bolted up nicely to a harbor freight 7x10 mini lathe.

This is a great upgrade for my lathe with a couple of modifications. I didn’t like the plastic knob on the handle so I made a new one out of aluminum. I took it apart and de-burred all the internal parts for a much smoother operation. I also made a new top nut that locks it to the cross slide from mild steel added a steel rod and aluminum knob. This makes it much easier to rotate the holder as needed from time to time. I purchased several more of the 250-001 tool holders for some other shape tools. I have a small lathe and am just a hobbyist, so this worked great.

Because the parting tool angle is not horizontal, the cutting point raises as the tool is extended from the holder. On my mini-lathe, only trivially small diameters are near the center height when the cutting blade barely extends from the holder. Cannot lower the tool holder low enough to be near center on diameters I use.Look at the photo of the parting tool holder to see the inclination. Other manufacturers have a horizontal holder I hope will fit this quick change tool post.

Very good quality and fit. Exactly what I was looking for. Tool holders are well made and fit solid with quick release holder, nice and tight.
