I love walrus oil and won’t use anything else on my natural wood pieces. It’s easy to apply and is safe for food surfaces. It gives thirsty wood such a beautiful, finished appearance… and brings out aaaall the natural colors. It doesn’t give any kind of a shine, but makes the wood look “healthy”. It’s a bit pricey, but worth it to make my one-of-kind pieces stand out!

I’m using this blend of polymerizing oil in place pure tung oil. I use it uncut it is easy to apply and absorbs quickly. One of my favorite characteristics is the lack of odors associated with other polymerizing oils like BLO or Tung oil. It does seem to take a bit longer to cure but once you’ve stop carving what’s the rush?

Great product, gives a beautiful rich finish. On the bench, I diluted with regular Teak Oil to make it go a bit further and to thin a little to allow easier absorption.

I was skeptical of using a new product on this custom desk I built for my wife. I’ve used rubio in the past and I’m usually a creature of habit, but I’m glad I took a chance on this product. I’ve used walrus oil products before with my cutting boards, and this finish turned out better than I could’ve expected with less headache and buffing. I applied 2 coats 24hr a apart and buffed thoroughly, I’ll be using this product on more custom pieces in the future.
